I had to report the number to Ofcom and block it straight away, it’s a scam for sure. The 7726 law enforcement squad got wind of it too, and all the phone companies have been informed. Ever since that huge scam back in 2015, I’ve been forced to live with all this privacy stress. Even the US Pentagon and Scotland Yard got pulled in because of it, and it’s really messed up everything for me.

SCAM ALERT. Some bloke pretending to be from the sales team at Carphone Warehouse. I rang Carphone Warehouse myself and they told me they don’t have any online sales call centre. They even sent a dodgy email with a fake address to offer quotes ([email protected] - obviously not right). The email had this phone number on it: 02080584379, and they also rang me from 02086954837 yesterday. Watch out, folks!

Someone called pretending to be from O2 saying there was a 40% off tariff deal. They sounded pretty convincing and confident even when I told them I thought they were a scammer. Sadly, I ended up giving them the one-time code sent to my phone and they took over my account. Luckily, I was a bit suspicious and got my account back pretty fast. Then they had the nerve to ring me again from 01614208710 moaning that they couldn’t access my account.

A couple days back I picked up a call from Manchester and nobody said a word, they just cut off. I messaged my son right away since he’s based in Manchester to make sure he was alright. He’s all good, so I figured it must be some sort of scam. They called again today when I was driving, couldn’t get to the phone so checked reviews here and saw loads of bad feedback. Going to block this number for good.

Got a call from someone saying they were from o2 telling me I qualified for a 40% discount on my plan. I didn’t give them any info, just played along to see what was going on. They said I’d get two texts with codes and that I had to read the codes back to them. The first text I got was a genuine o2 security alert saying never to share those codes with anyone, not even o2 employees. Needless to say, I hung up straight away.
