Earlier this evening, I received a call that required me to wait for approximately thirty seconds before a person at a bustling call centre answered. There was a lot of background noise as they asked for someone by name and introduced themselves as representatives of an effortless comparison website. After informing them that they had dialed the wrong number since no one by that name resides at this address, they politely apologized and ended the call. The person on the other end sounded English, with either a Manchester or Birmingham accent. It seemed like yet another bothersome telemarketer who may have obtained people's mobile numbers unlawfully.
