7 yearsI’m away from the UK most of the year and don’t have a car here at the moment. So when a British woman rang, telling me I’d been involved in a car crash and wasn’t at fault, I was a bit baffled. I chuckled and said I’d never had an accident here, and then she passed me onto an Indian bloke. I couldn’t make out what he was saying at first, so I asked if he needed help. No reply. I told him straight up I knew it was a scam, warned I’d report the number to the police, and firmly told him to stop calling me. Still silence. I repeated myself before saying goodbye and hanging up.UKBritainIndia7 yearsGot a call from this number a little while ago. Some bloke with an Asian accent who already knew my name and where I live. When I told him I hadn’t been in any accident, he started threatening me saying he was coming to arrest me. Proper nutters, just a bunch of scammers!7 yearsGot a call from someone pushing FE insurance, acting like I’d already got a policy with LV which I definitely haven’t. Felt a bit dodgy if you ask me.7 yearsI just ignored it cos it looked like one of those dodgy ppi or car crash scam calls, like the kind ukunknown talks about.UK7 yearsHavent really made up my mind yet coz there isnt many remarks about this number here. Looks like it could be some irritating nuisance based on how many folks seem to have looked it up. Ive got a couple of missed calls from it but they didnt bother to leave any message.7 yearsI missed a call on my mobile, didn't pick up.9 yearsHas anyone else been getting calls from numbers that don't even display properly, like these lot? They keep ringing me but the numbers are always hidden, and I only see them appear on my call list. Not gonna bother answering, honestly :)9 yearsGot a call about PPI and they kept asking for someone else. Told them a few times they had the wrong number but they just didn’t get it. Ended up being really rude to me for no reason!9 yearsAs soon as I picked up the phone, they hung up on me.9 yearsThey kept calling us like 8 times today, but we never picked up since they hang up straight away when it hits the voicemail.9 yearsToday I got a call from this bloke who was really unfriendly. He claimed I’d been in a car crash, which is absolute nonsense! He began yelling out of nowhere and was just plain rude. Totally unnecessary behaviour.9 yearsIt's so frustrating, these lot keep ringing non-stop trying to push their rubbish on me. They and others like them are nothing but pests and honestly, they should be banned or something done to stop them altogether.9 yearsGot a call again today about accident claims, this time from a Manchester area number. I've already told them to remove me from their list but they just keep ringing. Reporting these calls from Manchester numbers to the TPS hasn't done a thing. Proper annoying!ManchesterTPS9 yearsI got a call from a woman about some accident, and she was really nasty when I told her to take me off their list. Proper rude!9 yearsThis number rang me on my landline and asked for a Mrs something or other, but it definitely wasn’t me. I told them they’d got the wrong number. Then they started asking for someone supposedly in charge of some company, but I didn’t catch the name. I explained mine was just a personal number, not a business. When they asked who I was, I refused to say. They kept wanting to talk to whoever deals with water bills at the company in question. I had to repeat again that this was a private line, not a business, and told them they shouldn’t be ringing me. They just wouldn’t take the hint and carried on as if I’d become some kind of info mule. In the end I hung up because I don’t have time for this sort of fishing for information, automated or not. They don’t seem to realise not every number is a business line.XYZ9 yearsSo this lady rings up about our business water charges and starts asking questions. I told her it’s a serviced office, so she needed to speak to the landlord. I thought I’d have a bit of fun and asked why the landlord’s number was necessary. She went on about some new law saying landlords can switch water suppliers now. I said, “So you’re basically trying to sell them a water plan then?” but she insisted it wasn’t a sales call, just a service one. We ended up going round in circles for ages about whether it was salesy or not. In the end, I told her she really needs to sort out her script and just hung up. Fingers crossed they don’t bother me again!9 yearsIndeed, I had a rather peculiar encounter with a chap, likely of African heritage, whose grasp of English left much to be desired. He rang me up, eager to chat with the individual responsible for sorting out water bills. I calmly informed him that, in this corner of Scotland, we only engage with Scottish Water via our local council. It was as if I was speaking another language entirely; he seemed utterly perplexed and repeated his request to be connected with whoever handles the water billing. It was a complete charade, wasting both his and my time, prompting us to block his number altogether. I've come across information suggesting that this number is linked to a surveying firm from Manchester that, on the sly, manages to operate as a utilities broker. It's utterly baffling why they would employ individuals with such limited English proficiency for their unsolicited calls.ScotlandScottish WaterManchester9 yearsHad a call about our business water charges. Bit awkward cos we’re renting and that’s all included. Asked them nicely to remove us from their calling list. Then I just blocked the number.9 yearsToday, I received a call from this number and the guy on the line kept asking about some water bill or something? He couldn’t clearly say what bill he meant or give any details. I told him we don’t have any water bill because we don’t run a business, then he just ended the call. I’ve blocked that number now.9 yearsI got a call from RVA Surveyors claiming they could reduce my business rates and save me loads of cash. Honestly, don’t fall for it. In the end, they just ended up being a massive waste and I ended up losing thousands. Seriously, the best thing to do is just block their number and ignore them altogether.RVA Surveyors9 yearsCaller was asking about business rates but it was hard to understand her cause her English wasn’t great and she sounded really robotic. When I told her the manager wasn’t around, she just hung up on me without even saying thanks or goodbye. Really rude!9 yearsGot a call from this number earlier and as soon as I picked up, the line went dead. I tried calling back straight away, but all I got was an automated voice saying “extension 4943576 is currently unavailable." This is just a total waste of my work time, so I’m gonna block it on our office phone. There really ought to be some authority to report these pointless calls to...9 yearsThis number rang me yesterday, but as soon as I picked up, the caller just dropped the line. Tried calling back loads of times both yesterday and today, even right after it first rang. Each time, it just says "the person on extension 4943576 is not available." Pretty odd.Submit Your Own Report (0161 354 1081)
