Claimed to be from a government office regarding a car crash. Got annoyed really fast when I asked why a gov department would be involved in such a thing. They shared a few bits of info but not much. Total scammers searching for easy victims, watch out! An elderly family member got ripped off for a lot of money not long ago which caused loads of stress and worry.

Really insistant bloke. Said he was from some government office. When I questioned him, he told me to 'listen to me' and I shot back with 'no, you listen. If you were really from the government, you'd know who I am and send me a letter'. I ended the call there.

Some call centre from India keeps ringing me, asking if I’ve been in a car crash. They just ignore when I say no and I reckon they’re passing my details to those dodgy lawyers who chase ambulances. Proper annoying!

Got a call from someone abroad claiming our number was linked to an accident we supposedly had no fault in. When I asked for our name and the car details, they couldn't provide any. They said they were from something like the 'Road Safety Authority' but it was hard to make out. I explained that both our cars were parked at home and hadn’t been in any crash. Got fed up and told them to stop wasting my time. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from an Asian guy asking if me or anyone in my family had been in an accident in the past couple of years. I said no, he asked again if I was certain, I said yes and then just hung up.

He claimed to have information about a car accident I was supposedly involved in that wasn’t my fault. When I pressed him for my registration number, he couldn’t provide it. Knew right away it was a con job and hung up promptly.

Got a call from someone named Alan saying he was from the Road Safety Authority. He said there was a car crash reported 10 days ago, but we’re a company and that would’ve been on a Saturday. He didn’t give any name or info about the accident and nobody here reported anything. Our office is in Leeds and the number was from Manchester. Felt a bit off to me.

Received a missed call from this number while I was out and about. Rang them back only to be met with a rather peculiar message stating, "We understand you've been involved in a car accident." I swiftly informed them that I don’t own a vehicle and requested to be removed from their list. Instead of addressing my request, they abruptly hung up. What a complete nuisance and utterly frustrating experience!

someone named Allan rang my bloke askin about some accident either this year or last. i stupidly said yeah, i did have one. turns out they’re sayin i can claim if it wasnt my fault and they’ll get a lawyer for me. sounds good if you've got time to kill :-) not keen tho, so hopefully thats the last i hear from this number. guess we’ll see.

I received a rather dubious call from this number, which was clearly an attempt at fraud. The person on the other end claimed to be associated with the UK government and mentioned something about a car accident being re-examined, stating that I would soon receive a letter concerning its influence on me. They kept repeating my name incessantly during the chat, which felt quite off and not at all like a typical conversation you'd have with someone genuine. It also seemed as though they were trying overly hard to steer the discussion in their favour. I urge everyone to remain vigilant and not disclose any personal details to these deceitful individuals!

I played along askin for accident details but they had no clue. In the end, they bizarrely accused me of necrophilia. This was the second time they’d called me in less than a week.

I received a phone call from some dodgy individuals posing as technical support for TalkTalk. Since I am indeed a TalkTalk customer, I decided to entertain their little game. They seemed to have my name and account number sorted, which was a bit concerning. They insisted that issues in the Windows Event Viewer were clear signs of malware and needed to be wiped. They attempted to coax me into downloading a particular programme, and when I feigned that my router was on the blink, they offered to send me a replacement. But, the catch was that I'd first need to send a £200 MoneyGram to a random chap in the Congo. Supposedly, I would then receive a refund in cheque form alongside the new router. Quite the con, if you ask me!

Got a call sayin' my internet was slow because of a dodgy file. I asked for their contact number to check things out, and they gave me this one. There’s nothing wrong with my internet, just a proper scam. Best thing to do is just ignore and hang up.

someone called claiming to be from talktalk, said they needed to ‘fix’ my PC. the people sounded foreign, had a chinese accent. they asked me to turn on the computer to ‘remove viruses’ or something. 100% convinced it was a scam to hack my system. watch out!

A woman talking in a foreign accent claimed she was from TalkTalk and said my computer had been hacked, asking me to let her have remote access. I humoured her for a bit and asked where exactly she was calling from. She said Liverpool, but couldn’t even give the right local dialling code. Definitely sounded like one of those call centres in India.

Watch out for a woman with an Indian accent calling from this number. She says she’s from TalkTalk support and tells me there’s loads of error messages coming from my PC. Then she tries to get you to install some software called “Supremo” so they can sort out the errors. Just know that this program lets them take remote control of your computer.

someone rang sayin they were from talktalk, told me my router needed replacin and i was due £200 refund which they wanted to pay straight into my bank while i was still on the phone. they guided me to do stuff like using team viewer. after i showed them my bank details, i ended the call but they kept ringin me back and sent a remote message asking me to accept their call. i told them if they had to refund they could use my bank details from the direct debit. checked with talktalk and no one had called me so it was obviously a scam. really strong asian accent and the line wasnt great.
