Claimed to be from a government office regarding a car crash. Got annoyed really fast when I asked why a gov department would be involved in such a thing. They shared a few bits of info but not much. Really insistant bloke. Said he was from some government office. When I questioned him, he told me to 'listen to me' and I shot back with 'no, you listen. If you were really from the government, you'd know who I am and send me a letter'. I ended the call there.

Sounds like a VoIP number and was without doubt a scam - they tried the “someone’s been hurt” line on us then when I asked who exactly, they just ended the call.

Some call centre from India keeps ringing me, asking if I’ve been in a car crash. They just ignore when I say no and I reckon they’re passing my details to those dodgy lawyers who chase ambulances. Proper annoying!

Got a call from someone abroad claiming our number was linked to an accident we supposedly had no fault in. When I asked for our name and the car details, they couldn't provide any. They said they were from something like the 'Road Safety Authority' but it was hard to make out. I explained that both our cars were parked at home and hadn’t been in any crash. Got fed up and told them to stop wasting my time. Definitely a scam.

Today I got a call from a man with an Indian accent who called himself Steve. He claimed he knew I’d been involved in a car crash that wasn’t my fault. I asked him for my registration number to prove he had any real info, but he said he didn’t have it. I just told him it sounded like a scam and hung up straight away.

Got a call from someone named Alan saying he was from the Road Safety Authority. He said there was a car crash reported 10 days ago, but we’re a company and that would’ve been on a Saturday. He didn’t give any name or info about the accident and nobody here reported anything. Our office is in Leeds and the number was from Manchester. Felt a bit off to me.

someone named Allan rang my bloke askin about some accident either this year or last. i stupidly said yeah, i did have one. turns out they’re sayin i can claim if it wasnt my fault and they’ll get a lawyer for me. sounds good if you've got time to kill :-) not keen tho, so hopefully thats the last i hear from this number. guess we’ll see.

This number called me, pretending to be from the UK government about some car crash they said was being looked into again. They also said they’d send a letter about some “impact” on me. The guy kept using “mame” constantly, which felt really off and unnatural, like some fake tactic to try and control the chat. Definitely sounds like a scam to me. They called with an indian accent sayin " I understand you were in an accident last year." They said they represented some firms and then rattled off a list of all the ones advertising on ty. I played along askin for accident details but they had no clue. In the end, they bizarrely accused me of necrophilia. This was the second time they’d called me in less than a week.

Got a call from people pretending to be TalkTalk tech support. Since I’m actually a TalkTalk customer, I went along with it for a bit. They already had my name and account number, which was creepy. Then they tried telling me stuff I saw in the Windows Event Viewer was some kind of malware that needed deleting. They even asked me to download a program. When I said my router wasn’t working, they offered to send me a new one. But to kick off the process, I’d have to send £200 by MoneyGram to someone in Congo - they promised a cheque refund once the replacement one arrived. Definitely a dodgy scam.

Got a call sayin' my internet was slow because of a dodgy file. I asked for their contact number to check things out, and they gave me this one. There’s nothing wrong with my internet, just a proper scam. Best thing to do is just ignore and hang up.

someone called claiming to be from talktalk, said they needed to ‘fix’ my PC. the people sounded foreign, had a chinese accent. they asked me to turn on the computer to ‘remove viruses’ or something. 100% convinced it was a scam to hack my system. watch out!

A woman talking in a foreign accent claimed she was from TalkTalk and said my computer had been hacked, asking me to let her have remote access. I humoured her for a bit and asked where exactly she was calling from. She said Liverpool, but couldn’t even give the right local dialling code. Definitely sounded like one of those call centres in India.

Watch out for a woman with an Indian accent calling from this number. She says she’s from TalkTalk support and tells me there’s loads of error messages coming from my PC. Then she tries to get you to install some software called “Supremo” so they can sort out the errors. Just know that this program lets them take remote control of your computer.

someone rang sayin they were from talktalk, told me my router needed replacin and i was due £200 refund which they wanted to pay straight into my bank while i was still on the phone. they guided me to do stuff like using team viewer. after i showed them my bank details, i ended the call but they kept ringin me back and sent a remote message asking me to accept their call. i told them if they had to refund they could use my bank details from the direct debit. checked with talktalk and no one had called me so it was obviously a scam. really strong asian accent and the line wasnt great.
