I just received a rather suspicious phone call. The chap on the other end claimed to be from TalkTalk, my internet service provider, and insisted that my computer was plagued by a terrible virus and that they could assist me in remedying it over the phone. When I inquired how they were aware of this supposed issue, he mentioned that they were constantly monitoring information from their servers. Naturally, I was cautious and asked how I could verify their legitimacy as TalkTalk. In response, he provided me with a phone number. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!
