Got a call from some bloke with a weird accent claiming he was Microsoft and that I had to fix up my computer settings. Said he’d guide me through the whole thing. I told him straight up he was a bit of a eejit and I wasn’t interested. Oddly enough, he ended the call right after! So yeah, looks like I guessed right - he was a total wally.

I had a call from someone claiming to be from India saying they could stop all the telemarketing calls starting tomorrow if I gave them my bank details. I wasn’t having any of it and told them to stop bothering me - probably a bit more blunt than I usually am. I'm on the TPS list, but honestly, it feels like it doesn't do much to actually block these annoying calls.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent who said his name was Pete. He claimed to be from the company that handles blocking unwanted calls on my phone. But as soon as I asked which company he was from, he just cut the call. Quite dodgy if you ask me.

They claimed to be from the phone preference service, which I signed up for ages ago, yet I still get bombarded with these calls! At first, I played along when they recited my address back to me, but I cut them off sharp when they brought up a credit card supposedly on file!

I received a call claiming to be from BT, stating they were renewing my safeguards against bothersome and marketing calls. Since my BT contract is up soon, I engaged with them for a bit. They then requested my date of birth and the first 12 digits of my debit card. Feeling a bit uneasy, I expressed my doubts, and the call was then handed over to another agent-who, rather unprofessionally, referred to me as "darling" throughout the conversation. I decided to provide them with made-up information, and remarkably, they didn’t seem to notice. When they pressed for credit card details, I explained that I neither owned one nor used it, at which point they simply disconnected. I’ve tried to return the call, but it won’t go through.

Just like the comment from 20th June, the third one down, I told them if they rang back, I’d have my daughter chat to them. She’s actually a Detective Superintendent with the Police and works in Fraud (or so I said). Of course, they hung up straight away! Funny thing is, she’s not really involved in Fraud, but hey, a small fib never hurt anyone, especially at 76!

This week, I've received four calls from this number, claiming to be the Telephone Preference Service wanting to update their records. They've been rather persistent, asking for my bank card information. I've declined to provide any details and noted the irony that the very organisation meant to curtail nuisance calls is the one causing them. It’s absolutely baffling!

Got a call from a woman claiming she could help block nuisance calls. I told her she was actually an example of one and mentioned I’m already on the TPS, so legit firms wouldn’t be ringing me up. I asked her to tell me more about what she offered, but she got all flustered, stopped following her spiel, and just hung up.

I got a phone call from a bloke named James, who claimed he was ringing from some kind of call blocking outfit. He asked if I was still getting loads of annoying calls. I told him I was actually on the phone with one at that moment and mentioned I’d note his number down to report it. Then he just hung up on me.

Got two calls from 0161 354 0994 within just 15 mins. There was a long pause with some weird background noise before the first person claimed she was calling from Microsoft about my PC. I told her I wasn’t interested and asked to be taken off their list. She hung up on me straight away. Then about 10 minutes later, they rang again, and as soon as I said hello, they just cut the call without saying a word. Total pain in the neck!

I've just had my 20th call from a number claiming to be "Talk Talk." Here's the number they used - steer clear of it completely! It's worth noting that Talk Talk never telephone their customers; they prefer to reach out via letters.

I received a rather dubious call from a woman named Jennifer, claiming to be from TalkTalk. She informed me that my computer was infected and sluggish. She directed me to a rather dodgy site, logyou.net, and mentioned a programme called supermo.exe. Then she urged me to visit teamviewer.com and to grant her remote access to my computer. I started to feel alarmed, so I probed further; she identified herself with an Indian accent as Jennifer Williams and gave me an email address of [email protected]. When I asked for a phone number, she provided 01613540994, insisting it was a London number. I informed her that I would consult with TalkTalk and get back to her, and immediately after, she hung up. Quite fishy, I must say!

I had a call from this number earlier today, claiming to be from TalkTalk regarding an issue with my internet connection. They asked me to hop onto my laptop and follow their directions. Naturally, I turned down the offer. I’m really fed up with these scam calls pretending to be TalkTalk. Just a word of warning to everyone-don't get caught up in this trickery!

I received a call from someone claiming to be Paul Watson from Sun Street in London, saying he was with TalkTalk Computers and needed to assist with a virus issue. Quite frankly, I’d prefer to block this number.
