Got a call tonight from someone saying they were with O2. They asked if I was still using pay as you go, which seemed odd because if they really worked there, they’d know my plan already. When I pointed this out, they called me arrogant - not exactly how a company should treat their customers. I quickly googled the number while still on the line, and it came up as suspicious. Said they were calling from O2 - might just be a marketing group though. When I picked up, there was silence at first, like others have mentioned. Maybe it’s because they’re calling loads of numbers at once and it takes a bit before they connect you to an agent. I heard some people chatting in the background, so definitely a call centre. They seemed to think I was on pay-as-you-go, but I’m actually a contract customer. Since no one else lives with me, they didn’t have anything more to say.

I usually ignore calls from unknown numbers cos I just get a bad vibe from them. Thanks to this brilliant site, I’ve finally figured out what these dodgy callers are about. What baffles me is how they can keep switching numbers, hassling people and trying to rip them off without getting caught and locked up. Something really needs to be done to stop these persistent scam artists.

I got a call from a number that looked just like a typical O2 one, but it was definitely dodgy. They started off like a proper call, then suddenly asked me for loads of stuff - my name, phone number, expiry date on my card and even the name on the card. They wanted all the digits, front and back! It's obvious a scam, no legit company would ever ask for card details like this on the phone.
