They ring me non stop. When I block one number, calls start coming from everywhere, from Leeds right through to London! Like I’m some sort of easy target for bank info, but I don’t even have an account, so ha! Joke’s on them, they’re just wasting their own time. It’s definitely a scam, I picked up for a sec, just heard a woman’s voice then hung up. Next thing, they call again and when I ignore it, they text me from a Manchester number saying ‘yo!!!!’ then ‘ansa ya phone’ - I was like ‘no way!’ what kinda freaks are these? Proper weirdos!

Just ignore and block the number.

Received ten calls today from this number, all asking for my banking information. I ended the call abruptly and subsequently blocked them.

Calls come through quiet and then it just cuts off.

My phone has a built-in caller block feature which I use all the time. Even though these muppets keep trying to ring me from blocked numbers, they never get through. It seems like there's a small group of them, each buying their own phone numbers from the networks. What they do is hand your number over to someone else in the group, so if you ask them to remove your number, they just fib and pass it along to the next bloke.

They ring me every now and then at odd hours and I've always just hung up once they stop talking. I’m based in London and always thought it was strange getting calls from someone in Manchester, but now that I get it, I’m definitely blocking that number.

Received a call from a woman saying she was with O2 and could offer me a better deal. She asked loads of questions and when I wouldn’t give out my bank info, she handed me to her manager. I never share my bank details on calls! So frustrating! Blocked her number straight away.

The guy said I’d won an O2 voucher or something. I asked who it was and then he asked for my bank details. I told him I wasn’t giving any, and he just hung up straight away. Proper dodgy call!

They rang me a couple of times in two days, even when I was overseas. I usually ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise, but these lot just wouldn’t give up. There was also another number that kept buzzing around the same time, 0800 952 4841.

This number rang me like 3 times yesterday, and the bloke said his name was David Cameron, which cracked me up at first! I thought someone was winding me up, so I called him a proper idiot and told him to piss off. Then he said it's legit and that he gets this a lot, so I apologised. We ended up having a chat about England and what’s happening in Paris. He was trying to be mates, but then he asked if I had a bank account. I said no, so then he asked if my missus or my old man had one. I told him I doubt they’d lend me a hand. Then he got really pushy, asking if I knew anyone with a bank account, and that’s when I clocked this was dodgy. I told him I’d check it out and pop into an O2 shop to sort something. He then got proper annoyed and I ended the call. Since then, this number has rung me about 6 or 7 times more and I ignore it every time. My tip? Totally a scam, O2 never sends out any 'third party' agents, they just dont do that. Plus, if it was actually O2 they'd always text you right after their call to confirm.

Be warned, don’t share your bank details with anyone claiming to call from 02 using the number 0161 277 6642. I looked it up and it really seems like a scam. This morning around 11am, I got a call from a guy who said his name was Clive Roberts (that’s what he said when I pressed him for his name at the end). He was pushing a sim-only deal, said it was some kind of offer or promo. I had loads of questions but felt uneasy because of his dodgy tone. When he asked for my bank info, I told him straight up I don’t give that out to strangers. That’s when he started sounding a bit annoyed, trying hard to convince me he was legit, even mentioned you could hear the call centre noise in the background. I wasn’t convinced at all. He said he’d prove it by sending a text to my phone with details of where he was calling from. But the message wasn’t what he said, it just had a code ‘******’ and said something about entering it on a site to register an 02 account. Thought that was suspicious, so I told him to call back at 4pm. Then at 3pm, I got the same message again but with a different code. When he called me back later, he wasn’t happy at all when I said I wasn’t interested in his “offer”. Also, I asked if they could post me the paperwork so I could check it properly and fill out my bank details that way, but he said they don’t do that, it’s all done over the phone. Total red flag. After ringing up O2 and closing down a few accounts, I can confirm this has absolutely nothing to do with O2. I spoke with their support team and mentioned they're using O2's official website details to send messages pretending to be them. Honestly, stay away - it’s just some cold caller trying to sell stuff, not O2 at all. Their poor security ended up costing them 4 contract accounts and 5 pay-as-you-go lines from my family. The numbers calling are 01612776642 and 01612776640.

Today at around 11 in the morning, I got a call from someone claiming to be Clive Roberts, saying he was ringing on behalf of 02. He started telling me about some special offer for a contract where I'd get unlimited calls to any network, endless texts, and 2GB data for £18 a month. He asked how much I usually spend on pay-as-you-go, and I gave him vague answers. He mentioned it was a 12-month SIM-only deal with usual requirements like being over 18, living in the UK and having a bank account. When he asked for my bank info, I was quick to say no - with all the news stories about scams and fraud, I’m not comfortable sharing that over the phone to someone I don’t know. Clive tried to convince me he was legit, said he was in a call centre and’d send a text so I could check. Sure enough, a message came through with a code and instructions to enter it on 02’s website to continue your account registration. At that point, his attitude shifted a bit and he seemed less patient. A mate was with me and joked about maybe getting a better business deal, and Clive went, “Oh, so you own a business then?” I just said no and that I’d speak to my mate about what options are best. Clive kept insisting my mate couldn’t actually find me a better deal and even said my kids could use my phone to save money. During this, my mate’s phone rang, and Clive was pretty much pushing me to get my mate to explain what deal he could find. I told him to call back around 4 pm. Then he said something like, “So, are you going to take the deal or not?” - his tone was pretty blunt, I told him so, and he said there was no point beating around the bush. He also said he couldn’t be a scammer because he didn’t hide his number. I asked him again for his full name since he never gave it at the start. When he called back later, I said I’d talked to my mate and wasn’t interested. Still, he kept probing about what that mate could get me. Weirdly, between those calls, I got another text at 3 pm with the same message but a different code. The number showed up as 02UK, but it all just felt off this time. So yeah, watch out if you get a call from this “Clive Roberts” guy.

Oddly enough, they seem to ring me around 2 in the afternoon. I've taken to ignoring the calls entirely. It’s clear to me that these are con artists at work-no legitimate business would bombard someone with calls like that. Just a word of caution to anyone else out there!
