Got a call from O2 on my Tesco Mobile line, they were all about offering a 'better deal' but just felt like a sneaky way to earn some commission. If you're looking for a deal, just ring your own provider. Don’t go trusting random calls that come out of nowhere.

From what others are saying, it sounds genuine. However, I’ve had calls nearly twice daily, on and off, for weeks now. That feels like too many for a big firm, especially since it’s cold calling. Getting missed calls from numbers you don’t recognise just leaves you guessing who’s behind it. They should really consider sending a text or automated voice message explaining it’s from O2 and maybe offer a chance to stop future calls.

Why bother riskin your info with strangers saying they're from O2? Most likely some third-party people and might be the same for all the providers. If you ain't sure, just don't pick up. Better get your deals straight from the official websites or shop fronts.

This number keeps ringing me several times a day. I picked up a couple of times to tell them to quit calling, but each time they just hang up right after I answered.

If you pick up the phone, just make sure you don’t commit to anything you weren’t thinking about already. Try asking them for some positive feedback instead, salespeople love that kind of stuff. Don’t be rude, but be honest about feeling annoyed and ask to be taken off their call list. You could even say you want them to note you're really not interested or else you might start sharing your experience and their number on social media.

Got calls from an O2 sales firm they use. The calls are genuine, but since O2 don’t manage the policies and the callers can’t mention their contracted firm’s name, they keep ringing me loads to hit their sales goals. I’ve had 3 calls from this number just in the last two days, plus a couple more each month from other O2 contracted companies. It’s a bit much really.

Replying to 02/05 - not really, they switched me to one of the cheapest sim only plans out there and now I'm actually saving cash instead of wasting it. Maybe if you didn’t just hang up on their call, you’d be saving money as well like me.

They pretend to be 02 but they're not official at all, not even some authorised third party. I called the real 02 customer service and asked about this number. A woman checked for me and told me it wasn’t connected to them. If they try to get your name, it’s obvious they don’t know who you are, so don’t share any info. When in doubt, always ring the proper 02 number.

Someone pretended to be from 02 and asked if I was satisfied with my plans and all that. I played along because they sounded really convincing. They’re quite sneaky though, asking you to “confirm” your bank info, so I had to fib and say I didn’t have my card handy. The woman then said she’d ring me again later. No legitimate company would ever ask for your bank details over the phone like that.
