A really believable message popped up on our laptop saying our defender security was at risk and to ring this number so they could sort it out. Luckily the line was busy when we tried! We then checked the number and it turned out to be a scam. We’ve since cleaned the computer and all is fine now.

I received a dodgy call recently from a number pretending to be Microsoft claiming they could assist with my laptop issues. They bizarrely managed to freeze my screen and insisted I call a certain number to grant them remote access for restoring my security settings. Thankfully, I did a bit of research and discovered it was a complete con. I’ve since managed to sort out the laptop and get everything back to normal. Be wary, folks!

Got a call from an unknown number about some insurance offer. I told them I wasn't interested in what they were pushing. She said something but I couldn’t catch it properly because I was outside. When I asked her to say it again, she just hung up on me.

Pretty sure this was a dodgy insurance call, think it was from some call centre in India using this phone number.

Just tell them to jog on, hang up and block the number, then do it all again if they call back.

Got a ring from this number earlier, said they were from some life insurance protection place. Told her I wasn’t keen on what she was offering, and she actually started being rude before cutting me off. Proper cheeky!

Got a call from them recently but no message was left on my voicemail. After seeing loads of reviews here, I’d steer clear for sure. Feels like a scam. Couple of months ago, I had a similar ring and they were really pushy. What worried me was they had some bits of my info and were fishing for more. I told them I had a pressing meeting and asked them to ring later, then just blocked the number. Haven’t had any contact since. Might be the same lot trying their tricks again. Honestly, best to just avoid them completely.

I just blocked a call from some life insurance scam. They asked for my married name, which is odd since I’ve been divorced for over a decade. When I said they must have the wrong number, the caller tried to get me to give my details instead, but I politely declined and ended the call. The line was really poor quality and noisy, with a loud call centre buzzing in the background. The guy’s accent sounded Asian, though I couldn’t tell exactly which one. Anyway, blocked and moved on!

Someone rang me claiming to be from some insurance firm, keen to chat about my life insurance. I told them I already have a financial adviser and everything's sorted, so no need for their help. They kept pushing, saying they could check my policy and maybe cut my premium down. I told them again I'd just had it reviewed and wasn't interested. After a bit, they finally gave up. The call sounded like it was from a busy call centre, probably not even local. Looking back, I probably should've played along a bit just to waste their time and maybe help out others.
