They rang up claiming it was about a crash I’d supposedly been in. Then they asked me outright if I’d had an accident. I said yeah, you just said I did but due to some amnesia I can’t really recall the details, so why not fill me in? Totally thrown the caller off, went quiet and then just dropped the line. This morning, I got a call from some bloke asking for my husband. The guy sounded like he had a slight Irish twang. I told him my husband wasn’t around. When I asked why he was calling, he hesitated and then claimed my husband was meant to be expecting his call. I said no, that’s not right, and hung up straight away. I could tell it was a call centre because of all the noise in the background. Honestly, these sorts of callers are such a pain and should really be stopped from bothering people who’ve got better things to do than listen to pointless calls from strangers pretending to have important job.

I just got a call from this number asking if I’d been in some kind of accident. I told them I’m fine and haven’t been in any mishap. Then they started questioning if maybe it was a family member who got hurt. I was like, if you’re calling me, surely you’d already know who was involved? They kept pushing, wouldn’t accept that no one I know was hurt or filing any claim. In the end, I told them I was done wasting my time and ended the call. Definitely a dodgy call - best to just ignore it!

This number rang me earlier today. The person said they were from Directline and told me I’d had an accident with one of their customers back in 2011. I checked with my insurance broker and found out there was no such accident. I’m also one of those affected by the Aviva data breach where they leaked info without permission.
