I’m pretty sure these people get their info from some dodgy source. They actually had my full name, car reg and insurance company details. Some woman with a strong Scouse accent kept pushing that I was owed compensation from a small crash. I told her over and over I didn’t want anything, but she said she’d ring back later. Haven’t picked up since. Now I’m a bit worried about potential fraud or something. Best to just block this number straight away if it rings you.

I got a call from this number recently and decided to ignore it. Before that, I answered a call from a withheld number and could hear loads of laughter in the background - sounded very much like a typical call centre. They were asking for my daughter, whose contract the phone is on, but I’m the one actually paying the bill and owning the phone. Only O2, my network provider, really knows this info. Makes me wonder if these scammers are able to get hold of our personal details because providers like O2 might be sharing or selling that data. I got a call from someone saying they were from "Nationwide Insurance" asking about a road accident claim supposedly made by me in the past three years. This number keeps ringing me up constantly. A woman claimed she was ringing about a recent car crash I supposedly had. I asked her to tell me which vehicle I was driving, and she just said, "Sorry, we don’t have that info." I then questioned how she knew about the accident but didn’t know the car details. Just a heads up about a dodgy number I came across: 07917747823. They ring you up, trying to get you to test out and keep various things like cookers or Dyson products. They don’t just call mobiles, they also get through to landlines. I looked it up and found it linked to someone called Jones Millan, and apparently it’s flagged as dangerous online. Got a call from the same place again after about six weeks. The woman on the line said her name was Kellsy. I asked her for her last name and she didn’t like that much, pressing me why I needed it. I had a look on Companies House and saw Nationwide Claims Direct has been struck off twice now. The version they’re running now started up back in August 2014. When Kellsy asked me again about a claim, I said I hadn’t made any, then she quickly hung up. I phoned Nationwide myself and they told me it wasn’t related to them and likely some phishing scam. Don’t give these folks any info. It’s annoying they've got my name and number already.

Apparently, these lot get access to or buy up lists of people who've made accident claims. Then regardless of whether you've actually had an accident, they'll ring you up trying to push you into some dodgy claim. They’re proper con artists, likely skirting the edges of what's allowed by law. But hey, if it’s within the law, I guess it’s fair game. Like how Starbucks manages to avoid paying taxes - it’s not their fault they’re exploiting loopholes in a messed up system! - caller: 01519580048

Today, I got a call from a lady saying I’d been in some accident! I’ve been driving for ages - like 7 years - and never had a single crash. When I told her that, she replied, “Our records show otherwise…” then quickly added she’d remove me from their list soon. How come they knew my name though? It’s proper scary because I bet some folks might believe this rubbish! What can we do to put a stop to these calls?

Got a call from some rude lass with a Scouse accent saying I'd been in some accident within the last couple years. Now I’m off to see the doc to get my memory tested. - number that called: 0151 958 0048 (she mentioned something like NGC Legal, I think)

I got a call from this number, and the person said they were from Nationwide Claims, telling me I was apparently in an accident sometime in the last couple of years. When I told them that wasn't true, the woman asked if it might’ve been someone else in my home. I said it was only me living there, and then she just ended the call. I tried ringing back, but no luck. What's weird is they knew my name, even though I’ve never had dealings with Nationwide at all. I got a couple of calls from some folks called NCD Legal or something like that. They kept going on about a motor claim I don't even have. Proper scam if you ask me. Ended up blocking their number straight away.

Bit suspicious this one. They've called me a few times from this number that seems to be from Liverpool or somewhere close by. Every time I picked up, there was just silence, no one saying a word. When I tried calling back, it didn’t even ring, no dial tone or anything. I contacted O2 to report it and they agreed it looks pretty dodgy. Proper annoying situation.

This number rang me but I didn’t pick up. Later, I got a call from a hidden number supposedly from an insurance firm, asking if I’d been in a car crash in the last few years. I’d already checked this website the day before, so I told them I don’t have a car (which isn’t true) and mentioned I was aware of people pretending to be legit with these types of calls. The guy started getting nasty, wondering how I knew the call came from that number since he was hidden. I just wished him well and ended it. Got a call from some bloke today claiming they had details about an accident I was supposedly involved in. They even knew my name, which is a bit worrying. I only switched my phone number around six months ago because of loads of similar calls. Makes me wonder how they managed to find my new number so quickly, let alone knowing my name as well. Fingers crossed I don’t get flooded with more calls now.

I received a call from an NCD call centre, who claimed to have a "file" containing details about a car accident that they presumed I had been involved in. They went on to suggest that I might be entitled to compensation for the incident. This couldn't have been further from the truth, as I have never been involved in any such accident. Irritated by this false claim, I promptly ended the call and hung up.

I told her flat out I’ve never had any accident, but she kept saying they wouldn’t have my info if it wasn’t genuine. Totally nonsense! Just got a ring from someone claiming to be 'NC Legal'. I was a passenger in a crash not long ago but it's weird they somehow got my full name and mobile. Really felt a bit off... The woman said they were some kind of 'aftercare' outfit and wanted details about the crash, which confused me as I thought it was related to my partner’s insurance. I said I didn’t need any help. Just got a call from someone claiming they've got a file about me connected to a road accident within the past three years. When I told her I wasn’t involved, she asked if I was the contact person or if maybe I'd had a fall or trip. I said no again. Then she said she’d be closing the case and that I wouldn’t be able to make a claim. I asked where she got my details from, and she mentioned something called the "UK Panel of Insurance" and told me to look it up for a contact number. Of course, when I searched it, there’s nothing like that. Definitely a scam. Number came up as Nationwide Insurance.

Just got a ring from this number as well. Seems like scam callers often phone to see if the number’s even working, then they bombard you with adverts, texts and more once they know you’re there. My advice? Don’t answer it - number was 01519580048.

This number kept ringing me and then suddenly dropping the call, so I looked it up here to see who it might be. They rang again just now and actually spoke when I picked up. I had to ask them three times who it was since the name was muffled, turns out it was Nationwide. They said they were checking up on an accident on the road I’d been part of. I told them no, then they asked if maybe it was a relative instead. I told the bloke he was talking nonsense, he let out a weird chuckle and then ended the call. - caller: Nationwide Legal

Yesterday, I managed to respond to a call regarding an accident claim. I engaged in a conversation with the caller for over 15 minutes, purely to occupy their time. However, I now wish to prevent them from contacting me again.

Received a phone call supposedly from Nationwide claims about a "traffic accident" I was allegedly in. When I asked for the date, she rambled it was anytime in the last few years, then tried to narrow it down to within two years. I pushed for more exact details, but she said her system couldn’t tell her that. Got pretty annoyed and let her have it since they already had my name but I don’t have any Nationwide accounts.
