Got a call from someone claiming to be sorting out an old PPI claim. He asked me to send a cheque, but when I mentioned I don't use cheques, he started to get dodgy. He said he was from Liverpool, but honestly, his English didn't sound right at all. Definitely seemed a scam to me.

I’ve had loads of calls from this number, and one time they left a voicemail that was just over a minute long with nothing but heavy breathing. Didn’t say a single word. Feels either like some sort of scam or someone really dodgy.

I received a call from a gentleman who had quite a pronounced foreign accent, claiming I'd successfully made a PPI claim for a sum of £5000. I pressed him, pointing out that I had never even engaged with the company he purported to represent. When I inquired about which company was supposedly compensating me for the PPI, he simply kept saying the insurer I was "with." Upon further questioning, he couldn't provide a specific name and eventually just ended the call. Funny enough, a similar number contacted me back in November 2021 with the same PPI spiel!

I got a call from someone claiming I had money owed from a PPI claim. I told them I’d never made any claim, but he kept asking if I wanted to give my bank details. When I asked how he could sleep at night trying to scam people, he suddenly got all defensive and hostile, so I just ended the call.

A chap just informed me that I was due a cheque for five grand, and all I needed to do was install this app called gotoassistcustomer, which would supposedly grant him access to my device. Not a chance, I said! No thank you, and goodbye!

Got a phone call saying I was owed over £5000 in PPI. They asked for some info and told me to set up an account with an app named Monzo Bank. Then they started telling me to log in using an AOL email and a password they gave me. It all felt dodgy so I just ended the call. After that, I started getting loads of calls from them, so I had no choice but to block the number. Watch out, this is definitely a scam!

Got a call from a bloke with a strong Indian accent, saying he was ringing about some PPI claim from a couple of years back - which I never made. He was asking for all my bank info to 'send' the payment. Totally dodgy.

Spoke to an Asian guy who couldn’t give me any of my personal info when I pressed him. The only things he managed to say were the surname and an address. I told him, if you know the address surely you can answer a basic question about me? Then I warned him that if I looked up his number online, it’d be listed as a scammer! Honestly, people need to call out these muppets and make them prove they actually know you. If they can’t, it’s a clear sign they don’t have your real details like a proper company would.

I got a call on 11th September 2021 about a PPI claim from around five years ago. They said I was owed over £7,000 but wouldn’t send any paperwork through the post until my bank details were confirmed and my account verified. Seemed a bit fishy, needing my info before sending anything in writing.

I told them I didn't have a debit card, so I gave them an old cashpoint card number that didn’t even have the security code on the back. They ended up saying I missed out on the money.
