I received yet another call from the same bloke today. He managed to persuade me into downloading an app and then prompted me to access my Monzo account, which I regretfully did. However, I started to feel uneasy about it and swiftly shut down the app. Now, I'm quite anxious that he might have acquired some information from my device.

Got a call on my mobile and was totally baffled how they even got that number. I barely ever use it, it’s just for emergencies and none of my mates have got it either. I only noticed it when I turned the phone on to see if it needed charging. No voicemail left or anything.

I received a rather peculiar phone call today, where the caller informed me that I had submitted a PPI claim five years back and that it had been approved. The thing is, I’ve never actually made a claim for PPI. When I pressed for information on how they obtained my details, the caller steadfastly repeated that I had indeed filed a claim five years prior. I firmly told them not to contact me again; it’s quite baffling!

I've received numerous calls from the number 0151 901 5477, and I'm starting to think this might be a dodgy operation. They keep insisting that they have some PPI compensation waiting for me. I'm quite unsure how to handle this situation. Would appreciate any advice!

On the 6th of February at about 3.10pm, they gave me a ring but couldn’t get through since I’d already blocked their number. They’d also tried ringing earlier, around 10.10am on the 11th of January. Didn’t leave any voicemail or message, so I’m pretty sure it’s just another scam. Honestly, the police, phone companies or the government need to step up and start going after these nuisance callers properly.

I got a call from UK Reclaims saying I had £7750 waiting to be paid for a PPI claim. They asked for my bank details, but I gave them a fake bank name. Definitely a SCAM.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent, saying I’d made a PPI claim about 5 or 6 years back and it was still waiting - now apparently I could get £8,300 sent to me. He knew my name, phone number, and even my old address. He was really persistent, trying to get my new address as well. I tried to be polite and say no a few times, but he wouldn’t take the hint, so I ended up hanging up. Proper pushy chap!

Some guy named 'David' with what sounded like an almost Indian accent phoned my 91 year old mum pretending to be from her bank. He told her she was owed about £3000, but he wanted her bank card details to sort it. Luckily mum couldn’t find the card, so he said he’d ring back at 1pm - which he did, and he seemed really annoyed she still didn’t have the card to hand. I just don’t understand how these scammers live with themselves, targeting mainly vulnerable folks. They should get an honest job like everyone else :/

Absolutely echoing what someone from up north mentioned, I've received calls from this number on two separate occasions within just a couple of days, and each time, there's no answer when I pick up. I did try ringing back after the first missed call, but was met with a rather unhelpful message stating, 'inbound calls are not permitted'. Quite the nuisance, I must say!

So, I got a call about some PPI payout, they said I was due £8,300. They asked for my bank details, but when I said I'd prefer a cheque, they insisted I open a Starling Bank account first. The guy’s called me at least 10 times, kept ringing even after I blocked the number. Proper annoying. I’ve let Starling Bank know about it now.

Had a call from someone called Danny - odd name for an Indian bloke - telling me my PPI claim was sorted and the money was ready. When I asked who the payment was from, he acted all suspicious and asked why it mattered, like "don’t you just want the cash?" I then told him, since he must have all my info, why not just put the money straight into my bank? Suddenly, he just cut off the call. Proper rude if you ask me. Might ring again, who knows.

Received a rather dubious call today regarding a refund for PPI, supposedly amounting to £8500. When I mentioned I don’t currently have a bank account but intended to set one up next week, he suggested I ring him back after that. He kindly provided his mobile number, promising to touch base with me again next week. However, I promptly blocked the number he initially rang from. What a bother! Got a bloke on the phone who couldn’t even get my name right! Really dug at me for my info, said I could get £8241.91 back in PPI compensation. Funny how he knew the exact number, eh? Then he asked me to snap a pic of my driving licence and passport to prove who I am. I told him I don’t drive and never got a passport, so he switched to asking for a photo of my bank statement, promised the cash would hit the account within a couple of days. I kept him chatting for about 15 minutes before he finally gave up, which was pretty impressive - not had a caller stick around that long in ages!

I asked them for their number so I could ring back with the info they needed. They said no, but invited me to visit their office in Liverpool instead. I asked how long they’d hang about for me, I told them it’d take at least 4 hours to get there - they said they’d wait! They kept insisting they were trying to help. Ended the call after that. I got a call from some guy named Alan claiming to be from a company sorting out PPI claims in the UK. He asked for my bank info to supposedly transfer money directly. When I asked if they could just post me a cheque instead, he told me I’d have to upload a photo of my driving licence via some link. I told him to send any paperwork through the post and then he just hung up on me. I later contacted Reclaims UK myself and they said they never ask for that kind of detail over the phone. I was informed that I had funds waiting for me and was strongly urged to set up a sterling bank account in order to process the payment. They provided step-by-step guidance on how to do this, but bizarrely requested that I share my passwords and email information for verification purposes. They claimed to represent a company named UK Reclaims, supposedly based in Liverpool.
