Just got a call from this number about some Christmas SIM deal. They told me I’d keep my contacts and number, and it’d be cheaper. I told them I wasn’t interested, and suddenly they got really rude, calling me daft for not accepting the offer that supposedly would save me money. Then I mentioned I wasn’t the account holder, and he asked for their number to get in touch. I refused and that’s when he got even more disrespectful. Also, his English wasn’t very clear at all.

Got these dodgy calls from someone with dodgy English saying they were from HMRC. They rang me six times in just a quarter of an hour. When I called them out, politely, calling it a scam run by an Asian call centre, they didn't take too kindly to that!

I believe I’ve been contacted by an HMRC scam. I’ve asked them on three separate occasions to verify their identity, only to have them hang up on me. Each time, the caller had an Asian accent.

Got a weird call from this number and didn’t pick up since it wasn’t familiar. Later, I got an automated voice leaving rude stuff on my voicemail. I received an automated voicemail earlier today, and when I rang them back, their tone was nothing short of alarming and rather unhelpful. I genuinely shudder to think how someone in a more vulnerable position could have been easily conned out of £1500 by these people. It's absolutely appalling behaviour! They ought to face some serious consequences for their actions!

Got a robo call just now. The voice was really rude and sketchy, nothing like what you'd expect from HMRC, so it was pretty obvious it was a scam. Luckily, I'm on top of my tax stuff and got suspicious straight away. I checked online and saw loads of people getting the same calls. Definitely don't return the call!!

Totally a scam, no doubt bout it. If HMRC was actually after ya for something like fake accounts or whatever, they’d send a proper LETTER first. At worst, if it was super serious, the cops would probably turn up with an arrest warrant. You definitely wouldn’t get some robotic voice, then some bloke with an American accent saying ‘thanks for your response an advisor will be with you shortly’. Proper dodgy if you ask me.

I got a call from a bloke claiming to be from HMRC, number 0151 528 9293. He had a really thick foreign accent and his English was pretty rough, made me a bit uneasy. He told me there was some complaint against me about tax fraud and that the court would be sending me a letter. I nearly hung up straight away, but I was a bit bored so I kept listening. Honestly, I was tempted to block the number right then, but I carried on chatting. Eventually, I did block it because I don’t want to miss any legit calls while dealing with some nutter.

They said I could pay right there on the phone or else face court. Something felt off immediately. I asked if the call was being recorded, and the person said "yes, all calls are recorded". I checked again, and they repeated the same.
