Got a call from someone claiming it was about PPI compensation. They went on for a while, saying I'd be getting a cheque for £3500 today. They knew my full name and address, which was kinda spooky. The catch was I had to pay £100 upfront, supposedly by sending an Amazon gift card. After hearing all this, I told them straight it sounded like a scam and hung up. Then I blocked the number. The person on the line had an accent that sounded Asian.

I got a call from someone called Allan Conway, who claimed to be a supervisor at HMRC. He said I was owed £2340 from a PPI claim I made a while back. He told me if I agreed to have it sent by courier around 2.30 this afternoon, it'd only cost me £100. Sounded a bit dodgy to me.
