This number is just scammers trying to steal your bank info. Anyone getting calls or messages from it should definitely tell the police because it’s basically theft. Just google 'action fraud', go to the 'police.uk' site, find the 'report' button, and put it down as phishing if nothing got taken, or as a crime if you did lose money.

The caller said they were from a place in Liverpool and mentioned some company called Spectre Protection. Their accent was quite thick, so I’m not sure if they were actually calling from the UK. They knew my full name and where I live, and they really sounded believable.

Quite frankly, I've never taken out such a policy at all! Their so-called manager didn't have a British accent, which raised even more red flags for me. I suspect this is nothing short of a scam!

Some bloke called saying he was from the domestic appliances team, telling me my insurance needed renewing because my card had changed. When I said no to giving my card info, he got proper pushy. I asked him to send something in writing so I could look it over, but he said he wouldn’t send anything unless I paid up first, else my policy would be cancelled. I’m planning to send them a letter to confirm I’m cancelling it.

I just got a call from a woman with a noticeable foreign accent. She had my full name and address and claimed she was ringing to renew my white goods insurance. I told her I’ve never had that insurance before but she kept saying I’d had it for the past five years. It was an asian guy calling and when I asked him for my details, he couldn’t give much - only my last name and address. I kept pressing but that was all he could say. If you know who lives here, answering a simple question shouldn’t be hard right? I even warned him if I looked his number up online, it’d say ‘scammer’. Folks, don’t let these jokers push you around - make them prove they know plenty about you. If they can’t, then clearly they don’t have your full info like a real company would.

She sounded pretty convincing if you’re not organised with your paperwork.

Had a call from someone saying they were from Rock Hall Insurance, trying to renew a policy on white goods I don’t even own. Pretty obvious they were after my bank or card details. They kept asking about the expiry date on my card, claiming it was safe to share. Honestly, one of the slickest calls I’ve had recently - they had good responses and threw in strange questions to catch you out, obviously trying to gather more info. Feels like the police should really be cracking down on these lot.
