They keep ringing me like two or three times each day, and it's really getting on my nerves and stressing me out. I’m sure it’s some kind of scam and it really needs to end.

Somebody called saying I’d already shelled out £129 for insurance on my electrical stuff last year, then told me the renewal cost and wanted my card info. I told them to send everything in writing by post and ended the call. When I tried ringing the same number again later, there was no answer at all - the line was completely dead!

This number keeps ringing but never actually plays a ring tone, it just goes straight to voicemail with no message left. Honestly, you’ve gotta admire the persistence with how often they call, but that’s where the praise ends. 0 out of 10 for the rest of it!

I got the usual call everyone seems to be getting. I told them the place had just been sold not long ago. Then they asked for my info, so I gave them the name Thomas Wat, spelt with only one T. She repeated it back like “T Wat?” and I just said yeah, that’s right before hanging up.

Had a bloke called Jeremiah ring me up claiming my missus signed up for some insurance on our fridge and telly back in 2013. I told him it was utter rubbish and to stop wasting my time with his scams, then I hung up. I've now blocked that number. Seriously, TPS needs to crack down and protect folks from these dodgy scammers.

Some bloke with an Asian accent called me up, saying my Spectre white goods cover had expired. I told him I never even signed up for anything like that. Then he starts trying to explain some direct debit stuff to me. When I asked for his manager, he started shouting at me for not keeping track of my payments and then just slammed the phone down. Proper funny, really.

Got a call from some Asian scammers pretending my white goods insurance needed renewing. They said since I’d never claimed before, they’d give me a discount if I confirmed my bank details and expiry date were still the same as last year. When I called them out as scammers, they got proper nasty, so I told them to fuck off and shove it where the sun don’t shine. I’ve blocked the number and reported them to both the ICO and the police now.

I received a phone call earlier today from someone insisting that my white goods insurance was due for renewal. Naturally, I informed him that I didn't have such a policy with their company. To my surprise, he claimed it was regarding my Bosch washing machine. I had to straighten him out by saying my washing machine isn't a Bosch model at all! He kept pushing the notion that I needed to renew and harped on about the risks if an issue were to arise. I made it quite clear that it wasn’t his business and requested he refrain from calling me again! His tone was rather confrontational, to say the least!

I wasn't expecting anyone from an 0151 number since no one I know has that code, so I picked up carefully. A woman with an Asian accent was asking if it was me on the line. I said I’m the cleaner and asked if she wanted to leave a message, but even after I offered twice, she didn’t want to say anything. Now, after reading the other comments here, I’m starting to get why she was so secretive.

Got a call much like the usual ones about some sort of electrical warranty I’m certain I don't possess. Strange thing was, they had my full address, name and postcode, but called me using my surname like it was my first name. Offered a discounted rate for cover over the next four years. When they asked to confirm my information and bank card, I told them straight up I wasn’t falling for it and to stop ringing me.

Had a call from someone saying they were "Spectre home protection," claiming we’d had an insurance cover on electrical items since 2013 which was due for renewal. They said they were lowering the premium as a thanks for being loyal customers! Weird thing is, they couldn’t tell me any details about how we’d paid or through which bank. We’ve never actually had that sort of insurance - usually it’s cheaper to just replace faulty gadgets after the warranty runs out. Also, funny enough, their name’s almost identical to "Spectre Insurance Services Ltd," a firm based in Manchester!

01514386533 rang me and it was the usual rubbish I’ve been seeing in reviews recently. An Indian lady who wouldn’t shut up about some electrical insurance they supposedly have on my account, saying I’m a great customer so the cost would go down. Then she tried to get me to hand over my bank card info. Yeah, right, no chance!

Watch out, don't fall for this! Got a call from a woman claiming to be from 'Spectra Electrical' who kept telling me I had a warranty with them for all my electrical gear, even though I kept saying I didn’t. She said my card had expired and she needed to update it to keep the cover going. I asked her to send me an email with the info but she said she couldn’t, so I told her to just post it instead and then I ended the call. I definitely don’t have any insurance like that, so it was obvious she was trying to scam me by pressuring me for my bank details. Total scammer.

I just had a phone call about my electrical insurance needing renewing for £189 a year. I’d never even come across this company before until I saw these reviews here. The woman on the phone said we’d been paying them since 2013, which is total rubbish. I suppose she figured we’re an older couple and might be gullible enough to go along with it. I got a call from someone saying my two year term for covering all my electrical stuff was ending, and they claimed the first two years were free. They asked for my address to post some renewal papers. I honestly couldn’t recall agreeing to anything like that, which made me muscle in on the idea it might be dodgy. I told them to send whatever they want but made it clear I wasn’t paying a penny. Then the caller started pushing quite hard, so I just ended the call.

Got a ring from this number, something about Spector. They claimed I signed up for a one-time insurance for my kitchen electricals back in 2017. Thing is, I never did, yet weirdly they seemed to know the stuff I’ve actually insured, just not with them. I asked them to send me the info through the post, but I’m not too hopeful about it showing up. After reading other folks' comments, it’s sounding a bit dodgy. Watch out for this one!

Got a call from 0151 438 6533 saying our insurance with SPECTRE HOME PROTECTION was getting cheaper, dropping from £129 down to £99. I’ve never heard of them before. They claimed it covers all our electrical stuff at home and that we took it out back in October 2013, paying every couple years. Also said the first digit of my card was 4, which is rubbish. Then they said the policy was up for renewal soon but we still had active coverage. As soon as I said I was suspicious, the phone went dead. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

These kinda scam calls are really risky and I reckon they should be reported to Action Fraud straight away through their phishing report page. Just go through their steps online - don’t miss out on telling the NFIB as well, it’s key. Just search for Action Fraud and pick the one on police.uk. After that, give a heads up to others here. Make sure you block the number too, but watch out since a lot of phones only let you block so many numbers.

Today I got a phone call from a woman who seemed to already know our phone number, address and even our names. She said she was ringing from Spectre Insurance Services and offered a big discount if we renewed our insurance by phone, using the new credit card number starting with a 4, which is true as we got a new card recently. This number is definitely a scam. If you're getting calls from it, make sure you report it straight away on Action Fraud's 'report phishing' section. They ask for all the info about the scam on their last page, so be sure to fill everything out properly for the NFIB. The police can only do something if they have enough details. It's also good to post about it here so others know.

Got a call from someone claiming they were there to "renew my appliance insurance" but quickly asked me for my bank info. They kept wanting to talk to "Mr" followed by my first name, which was quite odd. Felt fishy to me.

I kept telling them I don't have electrical insurance and there's no way I'm giving out my card details, but Spectre Insurance just wouldn't get the message. Proper annoying how bothered they were.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from 'Spector Insurance'. He was insisting I had some existing cover on electrical appliances that I supposedly took out years ago, which is rubbish as I never did. He kept pressing for the expiry date on my credit card, saying it started with a 4, and refused to answer my questions. When I told him straight up I don’t share card info over the phone, he threatened to cancel a policy I don't even have and then just hung up on me. Pure scam trying to grab my card details.

I got a call from someone who started off by mentioning the first six digits of my card, which sounded kinda generic. When I told them I wasn’t going to go any further, they got rude real quick, so I just ended the call.

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, no voicemail left either - feels like they didn’t want me to figure out who it was.

I got a call asking about some kind of appliance insurance, but I thought it was dodgy so I just hung up and didn't get involved.

I’ve recently taken out a policy for my appliances with them, but I'm a bit in the dark since I don't actually have any coverage for my appliances. This situation feels a bit dodgy to me - is it possible that I’ve fallen for a scam?

Some bloke called Andrew, sounded Asian, ringing about some electric policy stuff, making no sense at all. Got a bit fed up with me when I didn’t follow. Pretty sure it was a scam. What a waste of time.

They called me up and rattled off my name and where I live, then tried to say I had some kind of insurance for my appliances with them - total rubbish! Proper annoyed me!

Got a call from this really pushy woman who sounded all condescending. She claimed she needed to update my Visa debit card info for some kind of insurance on electrical goods, which I never bother with, so I was immediately suspicious. She said my old card started with a 4, which all Visa cards do - not exactly proof of anything! When I asked for the last four digits, she just made them up on the spot. It’s scary to think how easily someone less aware might have fallen for it. I called her out for being a scammer, but she just kept repeating the same lines, so I ended the call.

Got a call from this number earlier today, didn't know who it was so I just let it ring till the voicemail kicked in. When I checked later, there was no message, just a woman saying my name. Strange!

I didn’t pick up since the number was unfamiliar to me. They just disconnected and didn’t bother to leave a voicemail. Reading other comments, I guess ignoring was the best move!

I answered but nobody was on the line, and they didn’t bother leaving a message. Pretty clear it’s just another dodgy scam call, so I’m going to block the number straight away.

Got a call about renewing some electrical insurance we supposedly had. I told her we don’t actually have any such policy. She tried to verify our info and got our name right, but the address she read out was from Wallasey, which is miles away from us - must be a mix-up. Then she kept pushing to get our real details, but no way I was giving anything. She was quite pushy and a bit condescending, so I just hung up on her.

They told me my debit card details were already on file and then tried charging more than £100 for insurance on my appliances. Definitely a total rip off.

They said it was our electrical insurance and that we’d been customers for years, but I’ve honestly never come across them before.

My dad got a call from 01514386533 claiming to be SSE from Perth. The caller said they could reduce his bill and tried to get his card info. Luckily, my dad was wise enough not to give anything away. He’s on the TPS list as well, which probably helped.

My dad got a call from 01514386533 claiming to be from SSE in Perth. The caller offered to cut his tariff, then quickly asked for his card info. Luckily, he was smart enough not to give anything away. Plus, he's signed up with the TPS, so that helped too!
