Like others have mentioned, I got a call from someone claiming to be with Spectre. They insisted I had paid for white goods insurance and needed to give them my bank info again. No way was I falling for that!

Got a call from a woman claiming my white goods insurance had expired. Thing is, I’ve never even taken out that insurance. She asked for my updated payment details, saying the old ones they had were no longer valid. When I asked her to share exactly what info she had on file, she just hung up on me.

Got a call from an Asian lady telling me my kitchen appliance warranty had run out. She offered a special deal for £95, called me back a couple of times. I just ended up blocking the number after that.

They keep ringing all the time and I don’t even pick up, super frustrating!

Got a call today! I let it go to my answerphone, and they didn’t bother calling back. My phone always shows who’s ringing, so I just block any mystery numbers that keep popping up. A bit of quick Googling usually tells me where the call is from, and it’s almost always some place I’ve never heard of or got any contacts in!

This is the third time in just a few days they've phoned my landline! Luckily, I have an answerphone set up. They never bother to leave a message, guessing if they can't catch you when you pick up, they just give up straight away! What a bunch of wankers!

Got a call from a woman who said her name was “Linda”, sounded like she was from Africa. I didn’t pick up, just let it go to voicemail but the noise in the background was awful, like some busy call centre. She didn’t bother leaving a message, just said her name. This isn’t the first time they’ve rung me, the previous time the number ended in 33. Just a heads up, better not answer calls from these numbers!

Yet another dodgy call, same old insurance nonsense. Wish these scammers would just get nabbed already.

Received a phone call from 01514386531 claiming my husband had signed up for some cover for all our appliances back in 2017, costing us £120. Thing is, my husband never handles these sorts of things. When I asked why we never got any paperwork, they said Royal Mail sometimes lose things. Now they’re saying if we renew, it’s just £90 for two years and paperwork would be sent via courier. Honestly, this sounds like a total scam to me - they only want card payments over the phone. Nah, I’m not buying it!

Like some folks have said here, I got a call from a woman speaking with an Aussie accent. She said she was from Spectre and that my insurance for electrical appliances had expired and needed renewing. She had all my personal info, like my full name and address, which was quite unsettling. When I asked what appliances were supposedly protected under this policy and told her I never had one, she suddenly went silent, so I ended the call. Just a heads up, don’t fall for this trick.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent who somehow knew my name but I didn’t admit to anything. He was talking about some Spectre Protection plan that he said I already had but must’ve forgotten. When I didn’t go along with it, he started yelling and then just ended the call.

Got a call from a woman asking if I was some David Cummings or whatever. I just said 'No' a couple of times and then she just ended the call. Feels like she was fishing for me to say 'Yes' so they could record my voice and maybe use it to get me into some contract or something later on. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call from a lady with a bit of an accent, saying it's about renewing insurance for my electrical stuff - which I don’t own! I told her I needed to find some documents and convinced her to ring me back in about 15 minutes. Clever little scam, that one.

Today, I received a rather peculiar phone call from this number. The caller asserted that I had been shelling out £129 for the past couple of years to cover my home appliances. They claimed that, since I haven't made any claims, they would gladly lower my payment to £90. However, they pointed out that my card details had expired. They insisted they were dispatching my policy particulars right away and requested sensitive information like my card number and expiry date, stating they lacked my current details. What raised my suspicions further was that they had my name, address, and phone number at their disposal. The call centre background was buzzing with noise, and the caller, who had a notable foreign accent yet spoke fluent English, made me uneasy. In conclusion, I'm convinced this was a scam attempt. The number was: 01514386531.

From what I've seen in the replies, it's all the same old script from 2013. They charge £129 and promise a free renewal, but it’s obviously a total con. Don’t fall for it.

Got a call from some Asian lady about renewing my kitchen appliance insurance. She already had my name, address, and the first four numbers of my debit card, which spooked me a bit. Then she wanted the last three digits of the card. I said no, so she passed me onto her "manager" - a bloke with an English accent who tried the same trick. I ended the call, but they rang me back three times! They were really convincing, almost had me fooled.

I just got a ring from this number about home insurance, the guy had an Asian accent and kept pushing even after I told him I didn’t have any insurance because my stuff’s old anyway! It soon clicked that it was a scam - he was after my current card info. As soon as I said no, he hung up on me! Weird thing is, he already knew my address and asked me to verify it. I use a call blocker but somehow this one slipped past it!

Got a call earlier from someone saying they wanted to talk about renewing my home appliance insurance. Just got a ring from this number. A woman told me it was time to renew my home insurance, offering a discount and a free year since apparently I’m low risk. I don’t trust insurance stuff, so I knew straight away it was dodgy. She kept pushing for my credit card info, including the expiry date, saying she had to have it before they’d send me the policy. Got a call earlier today from someone saying I’ve got a household appliance cover that’s up for renewal. I told her I didn’t have any kind of policy with them, but she kept insisting that I did. Then she offered to renew it for £90 since I hadn’t made any claims - trying to get my card details out of me, which I didn’t give. When I said no, she mentioned a cancellation fee but couldn’t tell me the amount. She said she’d send a cancellation form through the post. I told her she better check with my husband first. Definitely sounds like a dodgy scam to me.

The phone cut out once the answerphone started. The older folks here always try to check who’s calling, but sometimes things slip through, especially when we’re waiting for an important call. When I said I didn’t have any such insurance, she kept saying I’d been paying them that amount every year. I told her nicely she’d got the wrong person or was trying to scam me. Got a call from an Asian woman pushing me to renew some old appliance insurance policy. She kept going on about the next payment needing sorting right away. She said it was Spector Home Insurance and gave me the number 015148265. I was a bit dubious, so I did a reverse lookup and got a different number, 01514386531, which made me even more suspicious!

I received a rather dubious call earlier today from this number. The caller asserted that I had been shelling out £120 a year for the past three years to protect my household gadgets. They claimed that, because I hadn’t submitted a claim, they could offer me a 25% discount on my premium. However, they informed me that my card details were out of date. To add to the audacity, they dangled the promise of a “complimentary year of coverage” if I opted to renew right there and then over the phone. Naturally, they sought my card number, expiry date, and I have no doubt they would have probed for the CVV had I not terminated the conversation. They had all my details, including my name, a previous address, and my transferred phone number. The caller had a distinct Indian accent and spoke impeccable English. - Caller: Scam outfit.

The caller wanted to talk to my husband but when I told them he was unwell, they asked if I was his wife. They started talking about renewing insurance for our white goods. Got a call from someone claiming I had an insurance policy for my electrical gadgets from 2013, with the last payment apparently taken in 2017. She even rattled off the first four numbers of my debit card! I told her straight off it was a scam, but she kept going on. I then said I’d be cancelling the policy immediately, which made her abruptly hang up. This site is pretty risky - I reckon older people or anyone not sure might believe it and spill more info.
