Got a call from a man with an Asian accent about a car crash I had like 2 years back! Asked him what company he was from and his postcode. He said something like Lawyers Attorney Birmingham LO26 6 ED. When I told him if he rings me again I’d report him as a nuisance caller, he just laughed and hung up. Watch out for this. Ron.

Got a call from a bloke with a foreign accent on my international line, claiming he was from Liverpool - some lawyer or attorney about my accident like usual. How do people even block these? My number’s on the TPS list and I’m still getting these calls, is this even allowed if they’re calling from outside the UK?

Posted on 10/02/2016 Q. Can anyone genuinely be fooled by this nonsense or is it just a trick to catch dishonest folks trying to make fake claims? A. They’re banking on someone being tempted by the promise of £3-4k compensation and admitting they were in an accident. Then comes the 'can you give us your bank details and address to send the money?', and before you know it, your account’s emptied.

01513241003 Received a dodgy call from a chap with an Asian accent, insisting he was from the "National Accident Helpline," alleging I had an accident with my car last November. Quite amusing really, considering I don't own a car! I called him out on his nonsense and threatened to contact the police, which caused him to turn quite vile and aggressive. He was practically shouting as I hung up. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour. What’s baffling is why this scoundrel has over 36 thumbs up here?

I received a rather dodgy call from someone with an Asian accent who insisted he was from the "National Accident Helpline," claiming to discuss a car accident I supposedly had last November. The truth is, I've never owned a vehicle! When I confronted him about his deception and mentioned I’d contact the authorities, he resorted to some truly vile language. Even as I hung up, he was still shouting. Absolutely disgusting behaviour!

01513241003 Dodgy caller with an Asian accent pretending to be from the "National Accident Helpline" trying to talk about a car crash I supposedly had last November. I don't own a car, so I called him out on his rubbish and warned I'd ring the police. That's when he started getting really rude and shouted at me right until I hung up. Proper unpleasant person.

The irony? I don’t even own a vehicle! I confronted him, insisting he was fibbing and that I would notify the authorities. This clearly rattled him, as he turned rather hostile and abusive during the call. I could still hear his shouting as I hung up the phone. Truly unpleasant experience. - caller: 01513241003

Got a call from an Asian guy saying he was from Lawyers Attorney in Liverpool about some car accident I supposedly had last year. When I asked where he got my number from, he said the Road Safety Authority. I managed to get his name as “David Williams” and an address, but he cut me off as soon as I said he should already know my name and details about the accident he mentioned. I’ve reported it to trading standards. Honestly, does anyone actually fall for this nonsense or are they just trying to catch people looking to make dodgy claims?

Got a call earlier and the person said they knew I'd been in an accident. I said yes, but jokingly added that my head had come off and rolled away. They kept asking if I was driving, a passenger, or walking. I told them to listen properly since I already mentioned my head had rolled down the road. They didn't back down though. So I just asked if they've been daft all day and hung up.

Accident dept calls are a nightmare - I usually get someone with an Indian accent and just tell them 'give me a sec', then leave the phone by the telly tuned to some Pakistani language channel for a bit. They get all confused, saying 'hello? hello?' then just cut off. Using a radio instead works ok too.

On the 27th of October 2015, I picked up the phone only to have the caller hang up immediately. It's quite puzzling, isn’t it? I can't help but wonder if they're simply dialing random digits to check if they’re active. We're listed as ex-directory, and we never share our number, so it’s a bit unsettling. When I saved the number to my contacts as Scam, it showed up as an international call, which explains the strange accent. Just so you know, fraudsters overseas can fake a UK number, so that's why it looked like it was from Liverpool. If you’ve got Caller ID, mark it as Scam - it’s a good way to avoid answering and dealing with these scam calls.

This number keeps on ringing me relentlessly, always going on about claims for accidents I’ve never been involved in. It’s rather upsetting to think they’re allowed to take advantage of us elderly folk like this. It's truly unacceptable.

Said they were from TalkTalk and somehow already had my postcode.

They kept ringing the work number after hours, like after 5pm. I’d dealt with them once before. So next times I just blasted loud music down the phone and they ended up hanging up every time after that.

Received a call at 15:07 on the 6th of October from someone with a foreign accent. They didn’t mention my household's name but claimed I had been in an accident. I informed them that my number is registered on a preference calling list and then ended the call.

Received a call from this number earlier today, but when I picked up, the line went completely silent. I'm grateful I took the time to search for it here!

I received a call from someone who stated they were contacting me regarding a serious accident in which I was said to be involved. However, when I requested the caller’s name and the name of the company they represented, they abruptly declined to provide any details. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Received a call today purporting to be from BT Internet, claiming that my broadband security had been breached by hackers. I recognised it as a scam instantly. The woman, who had quite an accent, insisted on connecting me to an engineer and instructed me to power up my computer. I've encountered this ruse before-essentially they want you to download some free conference software, enabling them to take control of your device and spy on you. Even when you're not around, as long as your computer is powered on, they can dig around for personal data and keep tabs on banking activities and the like. Stay vigilant, folks! Never agree to install such software, and let these con artists know where to shove it!

Got a call from this number today, just the digits showing no name. I waited for whoever was on the other end to say something. A guy spoke with an accent that wasn’t British, but I couldn’t really catch what he said. I told him to remove me from their list and then he just disconnected.

Got a call from someone saying they were from a third party working for TalkTalk. He kept trying to get me to open the run box, doing some kind of script. I like to mess with them by asking loads of questions to throw them off. What he wanted was for me to type in event.vwr, which I didn't do but acted like I would. I'm no fool, I figured he was trying to get into my computer. Eventually, I told him I knew exactly what he was up to and he wasn’t getting anywhere, then I ended the call. I looked up the number afterwards and saw loads of others had the same issue.

My wife got a call from this number, a woman speaking with a far eastern accent. She asked for Mrs and already knew her surname. The caller claimed to be from a company called England Claim and Services Department. She said my wife could get back some insurance money on a loan she supposedly took out. Thing is, my wife had a nearly identical call from a different company just last week. So she told the woman she hadn’t taken any loan out and mentioned the earlier call before hanging up. Honestly, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. No one just hands out cash for nothing.

24/09/2015 I got a phone call today from 01513241003, a landline, with someone speaking in an Indian accent. They said they were from TalkTalk and told me my IP address had been compromised and my service was at risk of being cut off. I played along and they said they’d send an engineer called James Smith tomorrow to change my router for free. Fingers crossed this James Smith actually arrives. When he does, my bulldog Reggie will say hello, and my right boot will say goodbye! Be careful, this is a scam - don’t give them any details.

Someone saying they were from Talktalk called, saying there was a problem with our phone line. They asked for a number to call back on and gave me a totally different one: 01252240182, which I found listed as a scam number. Watch out!

Received a call today at 11:58, but the person didn't say a word. It’s not the first time this has occurred, yet it is the first instance while I’ve actually been here. Quite peculiar, isn’t it?

The caller claimed that I had reported an accident, which is simply not true. I haven't done any such thing. The person on the other end had a distinctly Asian accent, and I suspect this whole thing is a scam.

This Liverpool number is always someone from abroad and you can't make out what they're saying. Don't give them any info. If you can, save the number and just don't pick up if they call again.

I rang the number but no one answered on their end. It’s a new landline so they really shouldn’t be ringing me.

I encountered a caller with an exceptionally thick Indian accent. I struggled to comprehend what he was trying to communicate, so I ultimately decided to hang up.
