Someone rang me saying they were from my energy company, telling me my contract was ending and they’d sort out the renewal. But when I asked them to confirm who my electricity supplier was, they said Opus, which is definitely not who I use. After I challenged them, they just hung up on me.

I received a call from a woman who introduced herself as being from Opus Energy, claiming she was reaching out to discuss renewing my contract. Then, out of nowhere, she switched gears and mentioned British Gas instead. I couldn’t help but chuckle and said, "Brilliant! So, you're offering to renew a contract I’ve never actually signed up for-how splendid!" At that point, she seemed rather put off and promptly ended the conversation. Quite the odd exchange, I must say!

Got a call from 01512531828 today, some bloke saying he was from SSE saying our contract was about to finish. He sounded like he was calling from somewhere in the Sub-continent. I told him he was talking rubbish, then he said he wouldn’t stand for bad language. I said I hadn’t swore, he said okay, then I asked why he warned me about swearing in the first place and he got proper lost for words. Total SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!

Got a call from British Gas again, takes about the 4th time now. They say our contract needs renewing. They had the right address but got the contract number wrong. We asked them to send the renewal details in writing, yet they keep phoning anyway. Quite annoying!

Some bloke called saying he was from E-On, telling me my contract wasn't renewed. I said that didn't sound right, and he said it was "pending" because of covid. Asked for a contact name and number, and he gave me a really dodgy Asian accent bloke called "Derek"!!! Yeah, no thanks, not calling back. I've blocked the number. Fair bet it's just some run of the mill energy company trying to get you to sign up for something.

Called our company today and was really pushy on the phone, refusing to share any info but INSISTED on speaking to a specific person. Wouldn't say who they were but claimed it was about an URGENT matter concerning our Energy provider, making it sound like they worked for them. Hard to make out what they were saying because of their accent. Tried calling them back but just got an answering machine with an American accent message that didn’t mention any company name, so definitely not from our actual supplier. Have now blocked the number.

Just got a call from them. They mentioned an address I haven't lived at in over a decade. Said there was a warrant out for my arrest for fraud. The bloke had a really strong Indian accent and kept saying I needed to check something right now. I've just come back from a terrible shopping trip, where I had to wait ages in line, keeping my distance and all.

The guy's called Aizak, and he's an absolute nightmare. Total scam artists, trying to switch my energy provider from Npower to Opus without my say. They're proper conmen. Some bloke rang saying he was from EDF energy, asking to check some details - called me at work in a hotel. They kept pushing and had to “put me through to a supervisor” to try and get my personal info. Don’t fall for it if they say they’re calling about electricity contracts or deals. STEER CLEAR.

Some bloke calling himself "Johnny" (had me laughing) said he was from my electricity company. I said we only use gas, so he switched to saying he was from the gas firm. Then he wanted to speak to someone who’s actually passed away. When I said that, he asked how old I was, and when I said 12, he started asking if I had a boyfriend and even asked about intimate stuff. Not just dodgy conmen, these are disgusting paedo scammers pretending to be legit.

Got a call from some bloke called Mr Love trying to flog us electricity. We joked about a threesome but he wasn’t up for it. He said he didn’t have a girlfriend, but seemed a bit iffy about the idea of having a boyfriend too, a bit homophobic if you ask me. Rang them back and offered to buy a kilo of electricity, but they weren't interested in selling to us in the end.

Told him i'm actually with British gas (though i'm not!). Then he got all defensive and argued back that his name was EON and he was working for British gas. His name is EON?? These folks are really nice. The way they talk to you is friendly and polite. They fixed my issue in just a couple of days. I’m really thankful to such clever people. Had a call from an Indian bloke who said he was from my supplier, EON (which I’m not with). He didn’t believe me when I told him they weren’t my supplier, so eventually I just ended the call. Then a few days later, another Indian guy calling himself ‘Mark Henry’ rang me, saying he was from Opus and that my Opus Energy contract was about to finish, so I needed to renew it. I kept avoiding him but he kept calling back, so I thought maybe it was legit. But then I checked the actual renewal date and it wasn’t anywhere near due. BE WARNED, DON’T TRUST THESE CALLS.

I got a call from some energy company and honestly, they were really nice. They helped me sort out my issue and made me feel quite happy chatting with them. This guy, Mr Aizak, was especially good at explaining things better than any other supplier I’ve dealt with. Overall, they seem like a good lot.

GREAT ENERGY BROKERS! I TOTALLY SUGGEST CONTACTING THEM. IF YOU'RE HAVING TROUBLE WITH ENERGY COMPANIES, THEY CAN SORT IT OUT FOR YOU AND GET RID OF ANY ISSUES YOU MIGHT BE HAVING.

Got a call from some bloke named Zam, said he was ringing about switching me to a cheaper electricity tariff because of some "revamp" by my energy provider. He went on about a lower daily cost and a 7.5% discount every month for three years locked in. Seemed dodgy, so I phoned my actual energy firm, and they said they had no clue about it, plus the rate I’m on is way less than what Zam was on about. He’s supposed to call again tomorrow - can’t wait to have a proper word with him!

Got a call from a guy claiming he was from British Gas wanting to chat about my energy deal. Told him I wasn't their customer and asked him to stop ringing me. They really need to stop wasting people's time!

Got a call from 01512531828, and it was total rubbish. Some bloke pretending to be from the electricity company, trying to sneak details to switch my supplier behind my back. I didn’t give away anything and just shut it down quick. If you get this number, just ignore em or tell em to sod off!

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from the electric company today, started off asking how I was which always makes me suspicious. Then he said he worked for British Gas when I asked for the supplier's name. Since it's not them, I just laughed and ended the call. Honestly, these calls happen every single day and I’m properly fed up with it!

Some guy with an Indian accent called me, barely speaking English and said he was from British Gas. It was obvious he wasn’t ringing from any proper call centre. I told him I knew he was fake, and he got curious and asked why, like he was jotting down tips to get better at this scam. Isn’t there any way the authorities can track down who’s behind this phone number?

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent saying he was from British Gas, who actually supply our energy. He said I could get a discount on my bill but said I needed to give him my bank info first to send the details. I wasn’t having any of it and told him I wouldn’t share my bank stuff as it felt dodgy. Since then, he’s rung my work phone like four times, insisting it’s urgent to get my details. Honestly, I wouldn’t trust this guy one bit!

Some bloke rang me claiming to be from Opus Energy. I called him out on it, but of course he just denied everything. So I rang Opus myself and they told me he definitely wasn’t one of their people.

Then he wanted me to read off a bill, which I told him I couldn’t as I didn’t have it to hand. He sounded really anxious, insisted he needed details within 30 minutes, but I stuck to my guns. I'm not one to appreciate strangers asking how I'm doing when they don't even know me. I asked him to identify himself, and he said he was Tony Morgan - but his thick Asian accent was obvious. He claimed he'd written to me before and I’d ignored it, saying I really should’ve responded. He insisted he was from my electricity company, but when I pressed for the name, he gave me a wrong one. From the very beginning, it was clear this was some sort of scam. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from someone saying they were with British Gas, trying to get our business info. Thing is, British Gas don't even provide our electricity. Then the bloke switched up and said he was from the company I actually said gives us our electric! Proper confusing.

This bloke was proper rude, kept asking for the owner. When I told him they weren’t here, he started calling me all sorts, saying I was some sort of slag and sleeping around. Even when I denied it, he didn’t stop and went on with homophobic insults. Total nightmare.
