Received a dodgy call from someone with an Indian accent. Definitely feels like a scammer.

Got a call from some bloke about PPI stuff. Heard him out for a bit but didn't give any details. Ended the call and blocked the number straight away. I get that folks need to earn a crust, but honestly, some of these muppets don’t deserve to.

I got a call from someone called Alex saying he was with Black Horse Finance and that I had a £2500 PPI refund he could send straight into my bank. Every time he said something, I just kept replying with 'Really?!'. Eventually, Alex just gave up and ended the call.

I let it ring out, then tried ringing back but it said the number wasn't real. Pretty sure it's a total scam.

Total scam artists pretending to help with PPI claims, just trying to rip you off.

Received a call from a foreign woman asserting that I'm eligible for a PPI refund. The thing is, I've never actually taken out a PPI policy, so it's clearly a scam. I've now blocked the number without hesitation.

I got a call from this number claiming to be from some Black Horse company offering to send my PPI refund straight into my bank account. From what I know, PPI refunds normally come as a cheque through the post to your home, not a bank transfer. Be careful and never give out your sort code or account number. When I asked for more info, the person got quite evasive and said they couldn’t go into details and insisted not to use the postal service. They also tried to convince me the call was recorded and there was nothing to be worried about. Just a heads up! Cheers, Michael B.

Sounds like one of those dodgy PPI calls. Be careful, people still try that trick nowadays!

Some bloke called claiming he was with a PPI firm and started asking for my bank info, which seemed a bit dodgy to me.

I picked up the phone just now, only for them to disconnect straight away! This marks the third time this week I've been plagued by calls from a number beginning with 01484957-XX. I’m starting to think it’s a robocall or perhaps some sort of nuisance caller. What a bother!

The call ended abruptly as soon as I picked up.

definitely a scam, don't trust this number!

I had a rather bothersome phone call earlier; someone claiming to be from a housing association rang up and started asking me about any issues with mould in the property. However, before I could get more information, the line went dead and the call ended abruptly. Quite frustrating, I must say! Best wishes.

Got a call but nobody left me a message, so I reckon it was probably just a scam. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number already.

I received a call from this number, and it was a woman speaking with a thick foreign accent. She inquired if I had any issues that needed addressing concerning my council. She claimed to be part of a housing repair team affiliated with my local council.

They kept ringing me over and over but never left a voicemail, which makes me suspicious that it might be some sort of scam or something dodgy.

Try not to pick up on annoying phone calls, they’re usually just a waste of time.

No clue who that was, the poor person couldn’t even drop a message. Cheers to everyone else who shared their thoughts though!

Totally a scam! If you want to do something about it, look up ‘action fraud’ on Google and visit the ‘police-uk’ website. There’s a section called ‘report a phishing attempt’ - make sure you read all the info there first. After that, you can fill in the details of the scam straight to the police database. This is honestly the best way for the police to track how widespread these dodgy attempts are.

Had a call from a guy, sounds like he was from the council repairs, asking if there was any kind of leaks or problems. I told him there wasn’t, and he just hung up straight away.

I just let it go to voicemail, didn't pick up.

As soon as I picked up, they ended the call right away.
