I never say a word when I answer, and since Ive only shared my landline with family who know its unlisted, im quite annoyed with Virgin for not keeping it confidential!

Just to update my previous comment from 10 minutes ago - this number has rung me 5 times in the last week alone, but never left a message. Even if it is actually EE, it's starting to feel like harassment.

Thats the sixth time this week! Bloody hell!

I just had a chat with the EE sales crew, and they're running a promotion on faster broadband options at the moment. I must say, the chap I spoke with was incredibly courteous and attentive. I accidentally provided him with an incorrect number at the beginning to access my account, yet he recognised it straight away as being off. Quite impressive!

Im with EE already and the caller knew exactly when i switched to fibre broadband. He was just telling me about a new upgrade option for my plan. The guy was really nice and took time to answer all my queries without any fuss.

Judging from the comments here, it seems my call came after I checked product stock on the EE site yesterday. Ive always thought their website was more about flash than actual info, and this just proves I’m not about to spend my money with them!

Didn’t get a message and I’m with EE already so no point in calls to my home phone. If it was them, they ought to have left a voicemail. Thinking about blocking the number, honestly.

They kept calling over and over. I usually don’t pick up if the number looks unfamiliar. I’m with EE but haven’t done anything on their site or had any contact with them recently. The number had some kind of short code before it showed up on my phone. I reckon it might have been an international caller.

EE has rang me two times already, just after I was having a look on their website to see broadband prices. Like another person mentioned, be careful with the sneaky fine print before you hand over your postcode and landline number!

I answered the phone but no one spoke. They did leave a voicemail though, but it was empty. I had been checking out EE’s website a few days ago, so after reading others' experiences here, I’m pretty sure it was EE calling.

They've rung me about 8 times but never bothered to leave a message. Is this how they do proper marketing? I've blocked the number now.

I didnt pick up cause I didnt know the number and glad I didnt. I looked them up too to see if they operated around here. No need for all that stress.

They've rang me about 5 times within a couple of days after I looked up their broadband offers on the EE site. Every time it just went straight to voicemail and no messages left. Seems like a dodgy way of promoting themselves, honestly puts me off picking them even if I was considering it, which I'm not now.

I ignored the call since I didn't know the number, but glad I did. I had actually looked them up earlier to see if they worked around here. Really don't need the bother.

Absolutely infuriating! This number has been bothering my home phone a couple of times daily. They never bother to leave a voicemail either. I don't pick up calls from unfamiliar numbers.

I didn’t pick up the call and there was no voicemail either. I was just looking at EE online the previous day. This feels really invasive, and honestly it’s put me off switching to EE for sure.
EE

I didnt pick up and they didnt leave a voice message. I looked up the number here and saw a few people mentioned they were looking at EE broadband plans online, which I was doing as well. Their internet speed is pretty slow for £37 a month and it doesnt even include a landline. So I reckon I wouldnt gain much switching.

Was having a look at EE's site to compare deals and spotted in the tiny print that if you check your upload or download speeds, you’re also giving them permission to ring you up! Bit sly if you ask me.

Got a call from someone saying they were from EE broadband in Hull. I was just browsing broadband deals on the internet earlier today and somehow they managed to get my info, which is pretty worrying since I never entered any details anywhere. When I told him I wasn’t interested, he just ended the call straight away. Proper rude!

What a right dodgy situation that was! I've had two calls on my mobile today alone. The first time, when I picked up, there was a complete silence on the other end. Then, on the second ring, a chap claimed to be from EE in Hull and wanted to check my broadband speed. I asked him to provide my account number and postcode to verify he was legit. His cheeky response was that I needed to prove my identity first! I politely told him I was terminating the call and hung up. After that, I decided to ring EE's customer service to check if they utilised that number. They confirmed it was indeed a scam! How infuriating!

I really can’t stand those cold calls. It’s so annoying when firms ring you up out of the blue, especially when you never asked for it. I was just spending last night hunting for a new broadband deal and was checking out EE among others. I quickly decided against EE and went with Talk Talk. Yet somehow, EE got hold of my number and thought their sales pitch was more important than me having a bit of peace. Honestly, who do they think they are? Straight to the blocked list!

This number rang me up saying they seen I was looking to upgrade my broadband (I’m already with EE). I did have a look at new deals last night, so that was right. They knew exactly who I was and even sent me an email to confirm it really was EE. I got what I wanted now - instead of paying £41 a month for internet and phone, they sorted me out for £33 a month with double the fibre speed. Gotta say, really happy with that! 👍👍👌

I tried ringing the numbers given to stop the calls, but they're no longer working. So, I guess I'll be getting more calls soon, annoying as ever. It's EE about broadband, by the way.

They hung up before even leaving a voicemail, must’ve been really urgent or something. I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a bit silly and checked EE's website to see if broadband was available. Since then, I've had 7 calls from this number. I've blocked it now and definitely won't be going with EE for anything.

Got a call from 01482 489 655 earlier but missed it. I checked the number with 1471. The voicemail said it was from 'EE' and mentioned they'd ring back. Just like a few others here, I've been looking into broadband and phone deals recently, and had to enter my number to see what coverage I get. The message also advised that if you want to stop the calls, you can ring 0800 542 3095 - I'll give that a go first thing tomorrow.

From what I can tell, it’s definitely EE who I’m with for my phone. They rang after 6pm but didn’t leave a voicemail. Straight to blocked! Honestly, when are these companies gonna realise that cold calls just don’t work anymore?!!!

I got a call from EE after I filled in their broadband form online. It’s genuine and legit, but still worth being cautious. Scammers can copy numbers, so always check. Never hand over your bank or card info to anyone who phones you out of the blue. EE won’t ring you up asking straight away for your payment details. Stay safe and keep your guard up, folks! 💳👍😉

I called the number back using Skype and it came up as an EE line. There was a voicemail saying they’d attempted to get in touch with me. This happened after I asked about broadband since I’m with EE for my mobile. They also mentioned an 0800 542395 number if you fancy taking yourself off their contact list. Looks like they’re chasing up on a web enquiry I didn’t finish.

I was searching for a new broadband provider yesterday and had to type in my landline number. Since then, this number keeps calling but never leaves a voicemail. I’ve ended up blocking it because loads of others seem to be getting the same thing.

This number rang on my home phone, I didn’t pick up. I noticed some folks mentioned it’s from EE. Thing is, I don’t have any EE contracts at all. Though, about half an hour ago I did upgrade my contract with Three mobile. Maybe it’s connected? Not entirely certain.

Apparently from EE Mobile. I was after a SIM card and the person asked for my sort code and bank account info. Then they wanted my full 16 digit card number, and that’s when I said no and ended the call. They called back saying if I didn’t want to share that number, I could just answer some security questions to verify myself. I told them I wasn't convinced and put the phone down. Haven’t heard anything from them since.

I didnt pick up this number (3 times) cause it wasnt familiar to me. Just like others have said here, I was thinking about switching my internet and had been checking out EE. Weirdly, I also got a ring from BT the very same day, probably coz I looked them up as well.

My husband was looking up broadband speeds for our house last night and had to put in our phone number to get the info. Now we’ve had calls twice today. What’s really irritating is that no one speaks when we answer, so we can't even complain. Why even bother calling if they won’t talk? Definitely not going with EE!

Got a random call from 01482-489655, they said they was recording me and asked for my personal info. I told them I didn't know who they were and it felt like a threat being told they was recording. Also said I wasn’t happy them using my name since they were strangers. Told them they could talk but I wouldn’t be responding. They ended the call pretty quick after that.

Got a call at 2:11 in the afternoon on my old landline that’s not listed, some woman said someone was browsing the EE site last night. I told her no one was. She then asked for my personal info to ‘put it into her system’ - as if I’m about to give that out! I’ve never been with EE, nor has anyone here. Even if we had used the EE site, how on earth would they know that? And how did they even get my unlisted number? Feels like these new privacy rules are just a joke now.

I picked up the call but it cut off right away so I never got to talk to anyone. I was browsing broadband offers online yesterday so if it’s EE like other folks mentioned, that wouldnt surprise me. Got a call from EE the other day after I was checking out broadband deals nearby. I guess they must have nabbed my number since you have to put it in to see if you can get the service. The lady on the phone was nice though, and when I said I wasn’t looking to switch right now, she was quite understanding.

It appears to be a call from one of EE's associated firms. You can check the details on their website here: https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/offers-and-services/other/phone-calls-from-our-partners. I completely understand the frustration. It shouldn’t be an issue if customers had the option to tweak their EE account preferences so that they aren’t bothered by these third-party calls. And for those who aren’t customers and have no interest in their promotions, it's best to either ignore the calls or simply block them altogether.

Had a couple of missed calls from this number today. I only got to pick it up on the second try. A rather young woman was on the line, asking for my partner by his first name. When I probed her a bit, she claimed to be from the EE phone provider. Strangely, she refused to leave any message or explain the purpose of her call, simply saying she’d give it another go later. When I mentioned that she had the wrong number, she insisted it was the contact they had on record! Oddly enough, she didn’t know my name or use his last name at all. The accent was quite pronounced - very much a Hull twang!

I've been getting calls from EE after telling them twice this month I want to cancel both my mobile and broadband. I had a chat with them about a week ago to confirm I was definitely leaving, but since then, they've called me three more times within just two days. It's getting a bit much now.

Got a call from EE earlier. The person sounded really nice and actually knew my name. They wanted to see if I'd be interested in upgrading my broadband. I had actually been considering it lately, so it was kind of handy. I think the call came because I’d just looked into my current broadband speed, so I wasn’t expecting it. No dodgy stuff or asking for my info, just a friendly check-in.

If it's really urgent, the caller will just drop a message, so I don't see the point in picking up every time.
