An unsolicited caller got in touch the other day - a woman, no less, who seemed to have my name down pat. She claimed to be ringing regarding a repair I’d supposedly arranged for my Hotpoint washer. To be honest, I’m convinced it was just an attempt at a scam.

I got a call from a woman asking if Mr [surname] was available, saying something about a repair I supposedly arranged for my Hotpoint washing machine at this place. I asked who she was, and she replied the repair warranty for the Hotpoint machine had run out. I told her there isn’t any washing machine here. She then asked if I had any appliance at all, and I said no, then she just ended the call. Feels like a scam to me.
