Some bloke rang saying I'd been in a car crash and could claim compo. He went on about how many people were with me, so I said 20 cos phone was on loud speaker at work. Then he asked what I was driving and I said a motorbike. He got all narky, saying I wasn’t serious and was wasting his time. For the past few weeks, I have been consistently receiving phone calls from a number that initially seemed to be local (0131 236 2320). The first time I answered, I was bombarded with nonsense about a car accident that I had never been involved in. Annoyed by this, I promptly ended the call and have not answered any subsequent calls since. Today, I finally decided to block the 0131 number, only to be faced with another number (from the same bothersome individuals) which continues to plague me with unwanted calls.

Spoke with a lady with a proper London accent, she got my name right then started asking about a car accident she supposedly had records of. Totally sounded like she was trying to get info for some dodgy claims or ambulance chasing, as I’ve never been in any accident. When I asked her which company she was calling from, she just ended the call straight away. Don’t get fooled just because they seem to know your name.

This was really odd, a bloke named Paul claiming to be from Portwest legal team rang my mate. She passed me the phone and he kept asking if I was her. I said no, just a friend, then I got passed to some guy who sounded Indian or Pakistani but I couldn’t really catch what he was saying. I told him if he called again I’d contact the police, and he muttered something like ‘ok’. Proper strange, and my friend can’t block the number on her phone :(

Wow, what a load of persistent cold callers. This bloke asked for me by my full name and said, "I'm calling about a little fender bender your vehicle was part of." Thing is, I’ve never held a driving licence nor been in any crash, so I just laughed and said, "Sounds like you lot just make it up as you go." Could hear him trying not to laugh before he just ended the call. They’re basically ringing everyone hoping you had an accident. Honestly, don’t waste your time picking up the phone!

Got a call from a bloke who said his name was "Paul" - he told me that my record showed I’d been involved in a car crash where someone hit my car and it wasn’t my fault. I told him that was rubbish as I’ve NEVER owned a car. He then said it was when I was a “passenjaaar” (said exactly like that). I told him I’d never been in an accident and that they were the ones annoying me, then I hung up. I've blocked that number now.

I got a very annoying call from some bloke at Portwest Associates. He was trying to tell me I’d been in an accident that was supposedly dealt with, but now I should make a claim for injury (which really didn’t happen). Mentioned some file that’d been sent their way and suggested I might wanna see a doctor to check my memory. I reckon he soon twigged I was gonna waste more of his time than expected and just cut off. Total muppets making random calls from what looks like a dodgy contact list.

This number keeps ringin me non-stop the past few days (even tho I was away abroad till just yesterday, sometimes calling more than once a day - today it was three times!). I never picked up, but decided to call back and have a word. After I left a voicemail saying it’s important to them and they'll respond when possible, all I got was constant music, then a voice saying 'Goodbye' before the call ended. This definitely feels dodgy and should be reported, but I’m not really sure where to!

Since I had recently assumed this phone number, I clarified that it now belongs to me. Strangely, they then asked for my name. I asked who he was and where he was calling from since Sandra Cook passed away ages ago, then he just hung up.
