I keep getting calls nearly every week from numbers starting with 0141 769, all about some car crash they reckon I caused. It's definitely not me! I've stopped picking up now, but it’s annoying because the phone numbers keep changing just a bit at the end, so blocking them is pointless.

I usually don’t pick up when I see numbers starting 0141769, but they manage to call me around once a week. They’re pretty persistent, never really giving up. One time I did answer and it turned out to be some dodgy car insurance scam.

Got a call from someone saying they were from an insurance firm, talking about a claim linked to a recent crash I supposedly had. Thing is, I’ve never owned a car, and they even used my old surname from before I got married years back. Makes me think their records are super outdated. Definitely feels like a dodgy scam to me.

Got calls from two numbers today, one ending in 254 and the other 255. I answered the second one but they just dropped the call. Both have been blocked now. Would really like to see a list of all the numbers this lot is using.

I keep getting calls from this number but the last few digits seem to change every week or something like that. Looks like they really want to get hold of me or something. I just don’t pick up and block it each time. For example, I got calls from 0141 769 0247 on 13/11/20 then again from 0141 769 0254 on 18/11/20. Quite annoying.

Some lady called me telling me about ‘my accident’. Thing is, I haven’t been in any accident for over 40 years, so I instantly guessed it was dodgy. I pretended to be interested for a while, and it turned out they were just those ambulance chasers trying to get you to pay them to go after the other driver. When I joked that the hippo I’d knocked over didn’t make it, she got really annoyed and hung up on me straightaway! 😂

Got a call claiming I’d had a car accident in the past two years, which is mad because I don’t even own a car. They somehow had my full name and when I asked how they got my info, they said it was from an insurance database. Told them I never agreed to them having my details, which breaks GDPR rules. Tried to get their company name and contact info, they said “Auto Assist” but I reckon that was a fib. Then they just cut me off. Felt like total scam/harassment.

I've been receiving constant calls from the same number regarding car accidents. It’s clearly spam. I suspect they might be recording these conversations. Just a word of advice: whenever they probe with questions, always respond with a "no" and avoid saying "yes," as it could potentially be used to claim your agreement to some sort of product or service.

I completely echo the sentiments expressed by others regarding this incessant barrage of calls from these pestilent sorts! I’ve repeatedly instructed them to remove my information from their records, yet it seems to fall on deaf ears. I manage to block one number, only to be inundated by another from the same nefarious group! What on earth is OFCOM or whichever governing body supposed to be doing about this? I've lodged complaints against several numbers, but they just appear to vanish into thin air!

I found myself in a bit of a pickle after an accident, and when I explained that I'm not a driver, they just wouldn't take no for an answer. In the end, they decided to cut the call. Quite the experience, I must say!
