‭0141 737 4846‬ Beware of this door-to-door selling trick, they show up pretending to be from an independent energy firm offering great deals. They’ll take your phone number and then text you. Next, they want you to call the number above and put it on speaker after a quick practiced chat with the salesperson at your door, who then walks off so you can talk to someone on the phone supposedly from Scottish Power. This isn’t how Scottish Power works. Stay clear of this scam entirely.

Numbers starting with 0141737 xxxx and 0141769 xxxx are definitely scams. Even tho they look like Glasgow numbers (the 0141 area code), the calls actually come from India trying to trick you into giving personal info. I recommend not picking up and just blocking them straight away. I’ve been getting around 2 or 3 of these calls every week recently.

A lady called but didn’t say which firm she was from, just asked if we qualified for any government aid. She went on about what kind of home we live in and stuff. When I said no, she just ended the call. We’re ex-directory so I should have asked how she got our details. If she wasn’t so civil, I’d have told her to jog on. Sick of these lot trying to pull a fast one on everyone, they ought to be embarrassed.

She mentioned she didn’t want to take up my time unnecessarily. Inquired about whether I still resided on my street, but oddly enough, didn’t specify which number. Seemed to imply she’d remove me from whatever list she was referring to. I didn’t quite catch what the purpose was, though. The voice was that of an older lady, quite articulate, with a slight twang of a Scottish accent.

I received a call from a woman who enquired about my name, but I wasn't the individual she was seeking. Her tone was rather impolite, and when I attempted to clarify which company she represented, I couldn't quite make it out. When I requested her to repeat it, she abruptly ended the call. Quite off-putting, to say the least!
