01417298576 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01417298576 👆 is reported as a persistent scam involving unsolicited calls from a caller named "Alex" or others who claim affiliation with a medical alert company. They falsely offer free emergency alert pendants targeted especially at people over 50 or those with mobility issues, but the free offer requires costly monthly fees. The callers avoid disclosing their company or source of personal data, frequently hang up when questioned, and often use high-pressure tactics to elicit personal information. Many victims note the calls repeatedly target vulnerable individuals, including elderly or unwell people. Calls often originate from a Glasgow area code despite claims of being based elsewhere. This number is strongly associated with deception and harassment, and blocking or reporting to the ICO and Telephone Preference Service is advised.

Got a call from someone called Alex just before 5pm yesterday. He said I qualify for a complimentary medical alert pendant and pushed for me to sign up immediately, saying the deal finishes today. He promised the first month is free but after that it’s £29.99 a month. I told him I needed to talk it over before deciding. He asked when would be a good time to ring again. Just a heads up about this Alex bloke.

So this bloke Alex called me twice, saying I might qualify for a free medical alert. I kept saying thanks but no thanks, being polite about it. Then he started talking over me, going on about how doctors say it’s crucial and that without the alarm you could drop dead within minutes if you got ill. I wasn’t having it, so I just ended the call. Mind you, I’m already on the Telephone Preference Service and my number is ex-directory.

I received a call from someone who said he was situated in Devon. He aimed to promote a medical alert system. However, when I inquired about whether the system would function in the event of a power outage, he seemed rather flustered and merely kept insisting that his name was Alex and that I was 'eligible' for this medical alert system. Before I could ask further questions, he abruptly hung up on me.

Today at about 2.30pm, I got a call from 01417298576. The guy said he was calling about a free medical pendant and asked me some questions. But he kept saying the same thing over and over. His tone wasn’t very pleasant either, which put me off.

Just like a few others have said, the caller claimed to be from a medical centre and mentioned I could qualify for some kind of pendant. He asked if I was above 50, but I chose not to answer. I told him I don’t handle these offers on the phone. Then he went on about how doing it this way keeps prices low so more people can afford the pendant. I declined, but he kept going on even as I tried to end the call. Definitely a scam, avoided it!

Fraudulent behaviour! Just received a call about ten minutes prior from a chap named Alex representing "Safe Alert". He claimed I was due to receive a personal alarm. Naturally, I was curious as to how he obtained my contact details. Instead of addressing my query directly, he veered off into a different topic entirely. I pressed him repeatedly for clarification on where he'd sourced my number, but he dodged the question each time, fixating instead on the benefits of their alarm system. Eventually, I mentioned that I was recording the conversation and insisted he respond to my inquiry about the origin of my number. And wouldn’t you know it, he abruptly hung up!

Total scam! I got a call when I wasn’t home, and they were talking to my sick wife. They claimed she was vulnerable, which is sadly true. About half an hour ago, I had a call from someone claiming to be Alex, representing the Medical Alert Monitoring Service out of DORSET. He mentioned that they offer alert pendants to individuals over 50 who have health or mobility concerns. Naturally, I got a bit curious and fired off a few questions, like how he got my number and who shared any of my private health information, seeing as I haven’t given anyone permission to discuss that. To my surprise, he couldn’t provide any answers. He confessed he was new to the role and was just reading from a script, discreetly mentioning that his manager hands out a list of contacts without being clear on the source of that information. I told him I would look into it further and asked for his contact number, but he abruptly hung up! A quick check through 1471 showed the number originated from Glasgow: 0141 729 8576. Everytime I pick up the phone it just rings and then they cut off straight away.

I got two calls from some bloke named Sam, he was just muttering to himself or whatever. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number from “Windows and Doors Limited”. Not interested in chatting anymore, so I just left him hanging.

I got a call from 01417298576 but the person just dropped the call before I could say anything. Anyone know who it might be?

Got a call from 01417298576 but they left no voicemail. Seems like they might be ringing loads of numbers one after the other waiting for someone to pick up. Tried calling back a couple of different numbers linked to them. Quite annoying if you ask me.

Got a call from a blocked number about some medical alert stuff. The person on the other end was so pushy, felt like a total scam. Wouldn’t trust that call for a second.

Somebody kept telling me they could just come into our house we own to check out the loft. It was so annoying cause they had no right to be there in the first place!

Got a call out of the blue saying I could qualify for some medical alert thing - total scam, don’t fall for it!

I just got a call from some bloke named Tom about loft insulation. He’s rung before, and last time I politely asked him to stop because I didn’t agree to any of this. Today, I had to be more straight with him and told him to take me off whatever list he’s got me on. I’m gonna block the number now and honestly, I’d tell anyone else getting these calls to do the same. Such annoying unsolicited stuff!

Just got a call from some bloke called Sam who said he was from “windows and doors”. I asked him why he was ringing an ex-directory number, but he didn’t wanna explain. When I tried to get the address of his business, he just hung up and said ta-ra. Quite dodgy if you ask me.

I received a call from the regional energy provider, but it was just an automated message.

As the neighbourhood energy consultant for your area, I’ve tried ringing twice and received the same response - bloody ridiculous!

I inquired about a loft installation and wanted to know who carried it out and when, but I never received a response. I've rung them seven times today, even twice after I told them to clear off, and now I've finally blocked the number! It’s been quite the nuisance!

This number kept ringing me and then just hung up without a word… quite infuriating! Eventually, I decided to block it.

I was told that I had to let someone into my home, which I found quite concerning. I ended up reporting it to the police for safety’s sake.

I noticed that the area code was from Glasgow, and as I have no acquaintances or business there, I decided to let it ring. The caller hung up as soon as my voicemail kicked in. In fact, I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognise. Should another Glasgow number come through, I’ll just add it to my block list.
