got a call from a bloke with a foreign accent who said his name was john. he said he was ringing about a monthly warranty payment on my fridge or something, saying it was about to run out but offered to lower it to £6.99. i went along with it for a bit and then he passed me on to a foreign lady who told me the same story. i asked how much i was currently paying and she said £9.99. i told her straight up it was a scam and that i'd never paid for a warranty on any appliances ever. she just ended the call.

Just got a call from some bloke claiming it was about my boiler service. Said they wanted to lower my monthly bill and told me to ring back if there was any issues. They even tried to sound proper by putting me through to their "supervisor". I told them I'd just stick with my usual heating guy and then they just cut me off. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call from 365 Medical telling me I qualified for a medical alert system. When I questioned where they got my info, they claimed they'd reached out to my GP and local hospitals, saying I'd given permission to be contacted. I told them that wasn't true and mentioned it might violate data protection laws. Then, suddenly, the woman just ended the call when I asked if she knew anything about data protection!
