I asked them who they were, and the lady said her name was "Brenda". Honestly, I didn’t care about her name, I just wanted to know which company was ringing me. She then mentioned something about me not having a boiler cover plan. I have no clue how they knew that! At least it was a genuine person on the other end, not one of those automated calls.

Answered the call but kept quiet. Then an automated voice came on saying it was Oxley Technologies and that they couldn’t connect me to a live person right then. They said someone would ring me back later, or I could call them if I wanted. Didn’t say what the call was about or who exactly they were. From reading other feedback, seems like this may be a fake number that call centres use to cover who they really are. I've gone ahead and blocked the number.

Received a call about some boiler care package, sounds very much like a scam to me.

Had a lady call me up about some kind of medical alert service, something with a red button to press if you needed help. I was polite and said thanks but no thanks, explaining if I was ever that bad off, I’d know to get help on my own. Told her not to bother calling again since I don’t answer to random cold calls, whether it’s on the phone or knocking at my door.

I received a recorded message claiming to be from HMRC, stating I was facing prosecution for tax evasion. They insisted I press 1 to escape any further legal repercussions. Do yourself a favour and just block this number - it's definitely not coming from the genuine HMRC department. No need to panic!

This person called me up using my name and started going on about some free lottery stuff. They asked if I’m still at the same address on my street, but I told them I’m not comfortable sharing personal info over the phone. They just said “oh, alright” and hung up. Could tell straight away it was a scam just from how they were trying to fish for details, using talk of free things and lottery to get me interested.
