Soon after, a bloke came on, saying he was from BT’s engineering team, telling me my router was compromised. I told him I’m not even with BT, so go ahead. He insisted it didn’t matter if my provider was Sky, TalkTalk, or whoever, my internet would be cut off. I asked if he had access to the British newspapers where he was, and there was a sharp pause. Obviously not, since he’d know BT don’t control broadband access anymore - Openreach handles that now.
