Someone pretended to be from BT Openreach, but it was clearly a con. I didn’t even wait to hear what they had to say and just ended the call. Blocked straight away.

Got a call claiming to be from BT Openreach saying they’d boost my internet speed which is currently 76mb. Total rubbish if you ask me.

I received a call purporting to be from BT, claiming there was an issue with my Internet connection. The caller mentioned that the engineers were unable to ring me due to coronavirus restrictions and insisted they’d put me through to the technical team. When I firmly stated that I wasn’t comfortable with anyone accessing my computer, he threatened to disconnect my Internet service! Given that I'm online writing this, it's clear the whole thing was nothing but a load of nonsense!

I received a call that I wasn’t able to answer. It’s quite baffling how data privacy regulations seem to permit information to be passed around, presumably via those ‘helpful cookies’. There seems to be a noticeable uptick in scam calls lately, don’t you think?

total scam! never ever share your details with them! i was told not to even touch my computer. the bloke on the phone had really bad english so i made him repeat himself a bunch of times. he claimed to be from virgin media about my bt router, which made no sense to me since ive never had virgin media. i told him to bugger off and hung up. they just dropped the call. felt like a win to waste a few minutes of their rubbish...
