I got a call yesterday from someone called Amy, who said she works at the energy advice centre. She was quite friendly and seemed legit, but when I looked up the company on Google, nothing came up. The number had a Daventry (Northants) dialling code, but even putting Daventry in the company name didn’t bring up any results. I did find a listing on Companies House for Energy Advice Centre Ltd, which is based in Halifax. Apparently, they have two officers, but both have identical names and addresses, which is a bit suspicious. Sadly, it looks like a scam even though Amy seemed really genuine!

I usually ignore unknown numbers, but last week I answered one while trying to sell something, and it turned out to be a bad move. On the same day, I got a call about solar panels too, maybe linked somehow. Since then, I've been bombarded with about 10 calls every day, starting as early as 7:35 in the morning and going on till about 10 at night. The calls come from all over, including numbers that seem to be from India and Germany. I’m pretty sure most of these are fake numbers. It's really annoying how they just don't stop pestering me.
