got a call from emily claiming to be from national business, said she could lower my phone charges. she spoke quickly, trying to get me to keep agreeing with her. she mentioned knowing i run a self-catering place and claimed that’s why “not all bt clients get this deal.” i jotted down her number and told her i’d look into it and ring back if it seemed good. after reading what others have said, i’m still not buying it.

My 82-year-old aunt got a phone call from someone called ‘Richard’ claiming to be from BT. He said they had a cheaper deal and wanted her to verify her computer info - stuff like passwords and that. Thing is, she’s never had a computer in her life. After she told him this, ‘Richard’ promised to send some paperwork, but we haven’t had anything come through. Also, if you try ringing that number back, it just disconnects immediately. Bit fishy if you ask me.

I got a call about our BT service, saying Openreach was taking over all BT accounts or something like that. They then tried to sell me a deal that was way cheaper, like less than half what we pay, but they didn’t even know what broadband plan we currently have. After that, they asked for our bank details to change the direct debit. I just ended the call straight away.

this bloke called asking for the person who holds the bt account. when I told him I hadn’t asked for any calls, he goes on about how no one ever asks to get calls to buy microsoft shares. really annoying, and I thought these sorts of calls were meant to be banned now.

Got a call earlier from some bloke asking to chat with whoever handles the BT account here. I told him I don’t actually have BT but gave him my landline anyway. He went on about slashing my current deal, said he could offer better prices. I told him I’m not interested since I’m tied into a contract right now.
