Some bloke rang saying he was from BT trying to cut down my bill. Kept asking what I was paying now and my name. He was gabbin’ non-stop, sounded like he was reading from a script really quickly. I told him I was just about to leave so couldn’t chat. Then he rang again just a couple of minutes later, so I just let it ring out.

my 84 year old mum got a call from someone pushing phone services and they wouldn’t leave her alone. she almost ended up giving them her bank info, but thank god she hung up and rang me straight away.

They’re called National Business and deal with telecom services for small and medium businesses across the UK. When I asked, they sent me over to their site: nationalbc[###]. They’ve even got a Trustpilot profile too. Worth checking out if you’re curious.

This number called me but when I answered, there was nothing there, just silence. After seeing the comments here, I'm relieved I didn't get involved. Definitely dodged a bullet.

Got a call asking if I was with BT, and when I said no, the person said they'd put that on their system and then just hung up. They were quite polite, but now that I think about it, they got me to say both yes and no to some questions, which I’ve heard scammers use later on. I’m definitely going to keep a close eye on my bank account from now on. Pretty sure the number’s got a spoofed area code too - really reckon BT should stop using those old geographic codes for calls.

I received a call from this company, and after I returned the call, it became evident they were just fishing for clients. They appeared to be a credible business, but unfortunately, they're not really what I'm looking for. Quite an unwelcome interruption, if you ask me!

A bloke called claiming to be from National Business Telecoms but wouldn’t tell me his name. He was really persistent, going on for about 5 minutes straight before I finally hung up. Honestly, I wish I had ended the call way earlier.

Got a call from someone shouting about Openreach, sounded like they were right from Essex or somewhere near. Seemed really pushy, so I just ended the call straight away. Didn’t trust him at all, and I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Openreach, asking to talk to whoever handles the BT account. We’re pretty wary of calls like this so told them we’d ring BT ourselves if there’s an issue. Oddly enough, they rang back twice, insisting that BT wasn’t the right people and it was actually Openreach in charge. They even threatened to disconnect our phone and internet soon. Yeah, right, we’re not buying it.

Got a bloke calling me saying he was from BT, offering to sort my phone bill out. I told him I was tied up at work and asked if he could ring later. Got a bloke on the phone who was proper pushy, saying he wanted to sort out my BT bill. I hung up quick smart, but the very next moment he rings back. I knew it was him, so I just left the phone alone without hanging up fully, so he wouldn’t be able to buzz me again straightaway. Could hear him yelling “hello” over and over, must’ve been at least ten times. Didn't really mess up my telly time though, so all good there.

Watch out, folks. I got a call about some wholesale business service through Open Reach and some national thing, said my bill might drop to £39.40 a month. Then they asked me to confirm my direct debit info - no way was I giving that out. They claimed the BT business router sticker was wrongly on a home router, which sounded fishy to me. Honestly, it felt like a load of rubbish. The guy didn’t seem happy when I challenged him and even called back to push again. I’m definitely getting in touch with BT Business to sort this mess out.

My grandma, who’s 85, got a call from this bloke. She said he spoke really harsh and was quite rude, just like others have said here. He tried to tell her he could ‘save her money’, but when she said for him to send something in writing, he wouldn’t do it. She ended up just hanging up on him.

some bloke rang saying he was with ‘national business’ and claimed he was working for biopenreach. he wanted details and was pushing cheap phone line and broadband deals for our company. he showed me a proper looking website. i said I'd ring bt myself to check if it was legit. he then told me not to say anything about his firm to bt cause it was a ‘test’ for bt’s prices. that’s when i just ended the call!

Back in July 2018, I got a call from this number. The caller asked if I had a BT phone line, and I told them I didn’t. Then they quickly asked who my provider was, and I asked why they needed to know that. Right after, they just hung up without saying another word. They never said what company they were from or why they were calling when I first picked up. I’ve labelled this number as ‘dangerous’ because anyone who calls without a proper introduction and starts grilling you about a BT line straight off sounds totally suspicious to me. Definitely not a legit firm.
