This number has rung me like 8 times in just 2 days. At first, I thought it was one of those PPI scams because when I picked up the first time, there was that typical awkward pause before anyone spoke, so I just hung up. Then they kept calling nonstop. Before blocking it, I looked it up and saw it’s SP. I’m changing providers now as well. Haven’t been with them long enough to say much about their customer service, but it’s weird I never got any calls from them before this!

For three months all I heard was "The Back Office Team is sorting it" yet no bill came through, even though I gave them my gas and electric readings. Ever since I made the decision to switch from my Scottish Power account to a different energy supplier, I've found myself inundated with bothersome phone calls. Each time I pick up, it's met with silence, followed by an annoying hang-up tone. Quite frustrating, to say the least! I tried to leave Scottish Power after arranging a switch in January, but their retention crew convinced me to stay - and it’s been a total mess ever since. They kept hold of my gas account but the electricity account just vanished. I’ve spent months on the phone chasing this up. If you run into any trouble, I’d recommend contacting Trading Standards or Citizens Advice. They’ll connect you to a higher tier of customer service which is way better. After about a week dealing with them, I’m finally making progress with the switch. Honestly, it’s been a proper headache.

Like loads of others, I switched from SP to Bulb, and now Bulb keep calling me after a whole year of me chasing them up to fix the mess they made with my switch. They tried taking £2,105 from my account twice before cancelling my direct debit (my actual bill was just £85!). I wouldn’t advise using them at all. Just now they rang me, I picked up and they just hung up straight away. I never call back numbers I don’t know. How on earth are they meant to be one of the biggest?

Scottish Power missed taking my direct debit of £30, then called me three days later so I paid it over the phone. After that, they cancelled my monthly plan and switched me to quarterly, saying I owed over £200. I told them I wanted to stay on monthly payments but they hiked it up from £30 to £158 a month! Seems like Scottish Power ringing again just as we're about to leave. They always want to talk to my husband and ignore me completely. I keep explaining he’s at work. He’s the one who pays the bills but honestly has no idea which provider we’re with. I’m the one who sorts everything out, so if they won’t talk to me, they’ll get nowhere. We’re switching because their customer service is terrible, you can’t speak to anyone when you actually need help.

I never picked up and after seeing all these reviews I'm glad I kept it that way. I'm actually thinking of leaving Scottish Power myself, mostly due to how bad their customer support is. I got those smart meters put in but they've never functioned right. Been chasing them for over 5 months with no luck. And now they wanna ring me?! Unbelievable!

I recently moved away from SP as well, had a smart meter put in back in December, and it hasn’t worked a single day since. They just offered me a new contract at £117 a month, while Bulb is asking only £68, using the exact same details from my last SP bill. Ridiculous!

Didn’t answer 'cos it was an unknown number. Weirdly, I’m also just changing from SP to a new provider. They didn’t bother leaving a message and I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number. It's crazy how they ring up customers when they’re about to lose them but couldn’t care less about giving decent service when you actually pay up.

My landlady does a bit of side work aswell and last week she moved me over from Scottish Power to some company named Utilita Warehouse. She said I'd end up saving loads. Probably why Scottish Power has rung me a couple of times today, but I never pick up calls from strangers. Never done that before.

Ah, sounds like Scottish Power again... I’m ditching them as well. I actually switched over to a cheaper, greener supplier that I hadn’t heard much about just a few days ago. This number popped up on my phone yesterday and today, but it gave a warning about a possible scam or something similar, so I didn’t pick up. They also didn’t bother to leave a voicemail or anything.

So I was in the middle of switching my energy provider when I got a call from ScottishPower. The bloke on the phone was really frustrating - he kept spouting stuff that was either totally made up or he just didn’t know the basics. You'd think a big company like that would have their facts straight!

Three weeks back I moved and tried ringing Scottish Power to start a new account. Spent like half an hour on the phone but no one picked up. So, I just went through Uswitch and sorted a new provider in about 5 minutes. Today, I got a call from Scottish Power but didn’t pick up since I knew who it was straight away.

I’m shocked that this number’s been looked up more than 30,000 times! Honestly, Scottish Power ought to focus more on improving their customer support. I was stuck on hold for over 40 minutes when I rang them, and now suddenly they find the time to call me and heaps of others. I’ll be straight here - Scottish Power are absolute muppets. Their customer service is basically non-existent, and their prices are way over the top.
