I've been getting frequent calls on my mobile from 0131620 5769, sometimes twice in a single day. I tend to ignore them as I haven’t got a clue who the caller is. I've attempted to block the number, but it seems my mobile provider is utterly useless, as they persist in letting the caller through. It's really quite frustrating!

On the 21st of December, someone from Scottish Power rang me to set up an installation appointment because I requested it! Just have a look online for "smart meter" - 1) At some point you’ll need to switch to one. 2) It’s required by the government and lets you choose from more energy providers. Don’t pay attention to the more daft comments - energy companies contact whoever lives at the address to arrange a time, probably asked for by the landlord or the resident.

I gave my elderly folks a ring today - they're in their 80s, mind you. They mentioned they received a call from someone claiming to be from Scottish Power, stating they had scheduled a smart meter installation for a certain date. When I redialled the number, a pre-recorded message informed me that ‘You've been contacted by Unisono on Scottish Power's behalf. Unfortunately, we're unable to connect your call right now. It appears you’ve opted out of marketing communications with us, but in order to manage your preferences, please enter your complete phone number, including the area code, then hit the hash key.’ After that, it just beeped. I've now banned that number for good, especially since they assured my parents they'd ring back on Monday.

Some bloke named Darius rang me, sounding like he had a nose clip on, claiming he was from Scottish Power. It was pretty obvious he was mucking about trying to change his voice, made me chuckle. Got a call a couple times, picked up and they kept asking for some person I’ve never heard of. Just blocked the number after that.

This number has been blowing up my phone non-stop lately. I swear, I've had about ten calls from it just this week alone and they haven't stopped yet. It rings almost every hour, and the caller ID says "Harassment" and also sometimes "Scottish Power". If you’re annoyed by this too, you should try downloading the app "Whos Call" - it’s pretty handy for stuff like this.

These people are relentless, ringing me non stop at all hours. Its like they expect you to get fed up and give in just to stop the noise. If you can, just block the number cos otherwise they keep buzzing until you pick up. Me, I just ignore them altogether now.

I think Scottish Power have been ringing me non stop after I took one of those online surveys that claimed it was a competition for Co-op vouchers but it just turned out to be some kind of questionnaire. Proper annoying!

Got a call claiming I’d won some ASDA vouchers and that I’d joined some online contest - total rubbish, I never even entered anything like that. They were pushing me to give them my email for "verification". Honestly, just ignore calls from this number, it’s not worth the hassle.
