Total scam, steer clear. Never share any details with them, not even your name.

Dodgy call, definitely a scam.

I keep getting calls from a friendly sounding woman who says something about "talking about your home appliance insurance." I don’t have any insurance like that for my household stuff, and I’m not interested in buying any. They’ve rung a bunch of times over the last few days, sometimes calling me twice in one day at different hours. I just ignore the calls and delete them straight away. It’s really frustrating.

Another pointless call with no message left on the ansaphone. Fingers crossed it ends up costing them something.

I got a call about my "insurance for electrical stuff" that was supposedly about to expire - total scam as far as I'm concerned. When I told her I didn’t have any insurance like that, she claimed their details were incorrect. I’m pretty sure they’ll just keep ringing anyways.

This number gave me a ring the other day. Straight away, I could tell it was dodgy. They wanted to speak to someone I didn’t know, so I just said it was me. Then they went on about some kind of insurance renewal for my washing machine and oven, trying to sell me cover for three years but only charging for two. I asked how much it would be and they said £209. I didn’t bother with it and just hung up. They tried calling again, but I just ignored it and let it ring out.

Funny thing, I ended up getting through to a different lady who was under the impression it was me phoning her. I reckon the scammer must've messed up and linked us both together by mistake - those annoying home appliance insurance calls keep coming to me on a regular basis.

I got a call from a company about my fridge, freezer and oven needing some kind of renewal. They asked me to agree to it and pay up. When I asked more questions to make sure it was legit, they just got all rude and ended the call on me. Proper dodgy behaviour.

I got a call from this number claiming to be from some Domestic Appliances insurance company. They said my cover for all my household appliances was ending soon. I told them I wasn’t aware I had insurance on all those items and had no plans to renew anything. Honestly, I told them straight up I thought it sounded like a scam!

I got a voicemail from this number asking me to ring them back. When I dialled it, there was an automated message saying it was Personal Recruitment Outsourcing, and they even had an option to stop getting their calls. I just ended the call after that.

Just like the others have mentioned, this caller said they were from some kind of home appliance insurance. I decided to play along just to find out what they wanted. When I mentioned that she’d got the wrong address - maybe one belonging to a place nearby - she ended the call quite nicely. The accent was really thick and hard to make out over the phone, sounded like it could have been South African. Seems like a scam to me because she never asked for any details like my name or a policy number.

Somebody rang me saying they were from a company that insures household appliances, asking if I fancied renewing (we’ve never had one). They had my name and where I live, but when I asked them for a contact number to ring back, they said my missus had it and then just cut off. Later, I tried calling the number they called from, but it turned out to be a recruitment firm that answered. Strange!

I got a call from someone pretending to be from Domestic & General (D&G), saying I was due a discount since I hadn't claimed anything in a year. When I asked what appliances they meant, the person just rattled off a list of random household items, including some I don't even own. I ended the chat and hung up. Felt a bit dodgy, especially as I just signed up for D&G cover on a new TV not long ago. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

Someone rang saying they were from a home insurance firm wanting to check if I wished to renew - problem is, we don’t have any such policy. They knew my name and where I live, but when I asked for a number to ring back, the person said my wife had it and then cut off. Funny enough, when I dialed the number that showed on my phone, it was actually a job agency that picked up.

I got a call about renewing some sort of home appliance insurance - I don’t even have that kinda cover. When I told them I wasn’t aware of any of it and asked for a call back number, they just said my wife already had it and then just cut me off. Feels like a total scam to me!

Only rang once, but they went straight to ansafone after just a few secs. No details given about the company. I tried ringing back using Skype to avoid possible scam fees and got an automated message saying something about "personal recruitment" or something along those lines. Pressing '1' was supposed to stop any more calls, but obviously they didn’t know who actually made the initial call! Seems a bit dodgy to me, so I’d advise everyone to be careful with these lot.

Had a call from a woman with an American accent saying she was from 'Domestic Insurance'. She kept saying we had some kind of insurance on our cooker or something that needed renewing, which we definitely don’t. She wouldn’t listen when I said no. Then when I asked her where their office was, she just hung up straight away. Pretty sure she was trying to get my bank info to nick money.

Got a call from someone named Sabrina who claimed to be with Domestic and General. Thought it might be about a gadget I recently got at Currys. This wasn’t the first time this company had called me. I was in the middle of something, so didn’t really chat. If I’d known it was a dodgy call, I’d have given her a right telling off. Could be just a random call though. If it was linked to what I just bought, that’d definitely be a bit more worrying.

I got a phone call from a bloke who said he was ringing on behalf of Domestic and General about my appliances warranty. When I asked which appliances he meant, he named the oven, washing machine, and freezer. Thing is, our oven is covered by an extended warranty from the shop I bought it at, so I could tell straight away he was fibbing. I asked him for the brand of each appliance and he messed up all of them, so I knew this was dodgy. He said thanks for my time and claimed they’d update their records. Not sure how that’s gonna happen since he only knows the brands we don’t own - I didn’t give him any details on what we actually have. Best to steer clear of calls from this number, it could end up costing you big time.

Just like others have said here, I got a call offering insurance for stuff I don’t even own. They wanted my bank info so I gave them fake details, and they just went along with it. I ended the call pretty quick. When they rang again, I didn’t bother being polite, told them where to shove it. I’m 77 years old, not daft - their little scam was a total waste of time with me.

This number rang me saying my cooker and washing machine insurance was up for renewal. Thing is, my kitchen's pretty new and all the gadgets are brand new except for my Miele washing machine which is over a decade old now. Got a call about insuring my kitchen appliances. They claimed my fridge, washing machine and cooker were all covered and due for renewal. When I mentioned my cooker is about 16 years old, so definitely no insurance on that, they just hung up on me! I’m closing in on 70, so feels like they’re aiming for older people. The caller sounded quite pushy and not very polite either.

Some person rang up saying they had a 3 year insurance deal for up to 5 home appliances for £495, which sounded a bit fishy no matter the make or worth of the stuff. They said the appliances only had to be under 15 years old, which didn’t sound quite right to me. They really pushed to get my bank info for a direct debit, saying they wouldn’t take anything before I’d looked over the documents properly. Of course, I didn’t give them any details!

They kept pushing me for my bank info, which was a dead giveaway it wasn’t legit since a real bank rep would already have that. I just ended the call, but they rang back a second time. I cut off again - definitely a scam.
