The line was all scratchy so I couldn’t catch his name or the company fully, just heard “Domestic” something. I told them it wasn’t a good time because I had a doctor and ambulance at my place. They were trying to sell me 3 years for the price of 2 and really pushing for payment. I already have a rolling contract with D&G! Totally felt like a scam. I told them to call back today, and I’m shocked they actually did!!!

Got a call from some scammer pretending to be from Domestic Appliances, saying my fake breakdown insurance was nearly up. They tried to get me to sign up for a new direct debit to get some supposed discount on a renewal. Of course, they couldn't provide my old policy number or even say what items I supposedly insured with them. Total nonsense.

I left a message but only caught the last few words. Rang back and got a recorded message saying they were a personal outsourcing recruitment company and they'd try again later. They said if you didn’t want more calls to press 9, which I did, but nothing seemed to happen. Going to block the number now.

The woman on the phone was really pushy and didn't take no for an answer. I spent ages trying to figure out why some other firm was ringing me up with an offer when I've already got a maintenance deal covering my kitchen stuff. She kept insisting it wouldn’t cost me extra, and they’d just throw in my TV as well. When I asked why the company I pay every month by direct debit weren’t the ones making the call and why I’d be the one to get in touch with them, she finally just hung up on me.

Got a call from a (blocked) number today - the voicemail went straight to my junk folder. Wasn't aware at first, but it was some new unknown number, likely a spammer. This one (an Edinburgh number) left a message in junk mail saying she’d ring back tomorrow. Seems like even blocked numbers keep trying endlessly. Honestly, don’t bother answering these scam calls - best thing is to just block them (that's really all we can do at the moment). Usually they end up in Junk, then get deleted automatically. Works pretty well!

Earlier today, I got a call from 01315690029. A lady with a noticeable foreign accent was rambling on about my home appliances - specifically my television and fridge freezer. She claimed to be from Domestic and General. When I pressed her for further information, like a Direct Debit reference, she mentioned she would send me something in the post. I’ve encountered these sorts of calls previously, and they're nothing more than a scam. So, I’ve taken the liberty of blocking that number.

This really seems like a scam. I tried checking up on the details he gave about a home appliance insurance we supposedly have, but we dont actually have anything like that. I was a bit uncertain at first, thinking maybe my missus took it out ages ago, but when I asked what appliances were covered he just said "Hotpoint Group" - close, but no cigar. He also refused to give a callback number. Quite the smooth talker, mind you.

Some bloke rang me up, knew my name and where I lived, and asked if all our kitchen gadgets were still working since we were apparently up for renewing our cover. Thing is, we’ve never signed up for any kind of appliance cover. I told him straight-up it sounded like a dodgy scam. He tried to say he understood why I was wary, but warned me I’d lose my cover if I didn’t go through with it.

Got a call from someone in Edinburgh about an appliance cover deal. They already had my name and address, said because I hadn’t claimed in a year, they could offer the same cover for 30% less plus a free year. It turned out to be Patrick, the energy consultant from my area. When I inquired about the purpose of his call, he abruptly ended the conversation.

They keep on calling and leaving voicemails about some insurance for home appliances, threatening to ring me again. I've had enough and have now blocked the number.

I've had two phone calls from them. The first one came just before Christmas when they claimed they were going to cut back on my appliance warranties. I do have legitimate warranties, but the caller, who sounded Asian, was quite aggressive and persistent in their spiel. I got in touch with the company holding my warranties, and they sent me a letter confirming that they do not recognise that number as anyone affiliated with their organisation. They were kind enough to provide me with a complete list of my contracts, which all matched up perfectly. Additionally, those fraudsters have also tried to reach me regarding Domestic Appliances from the number 01315690009, but you can’t ring them back. I made an attempt using my mobile while masking my number, but to no avail. As a precaution, I've now blocked any calls from those two numbers on my landline, which is registered as ex-directory and on the Telephone Preference Service!

I received a missed call from this number, but when I rang back, it just wouldn’t connect. Seems like it’s a dodgy operation if you ask me. Definitely a scam!

Got a call from 01315690029 on 03/02/22 at about 10:28 in the morning. No voicemail was left so I checked the number using 1471. Pretty sure it’s just another scam. Wish these landline scams could actually be tracked. The number seems to be from Edinburgh, but which area exactly uses the 569 after the initial digits? Surely they could pinpoint it better and catch whoever’s behind it?

Phoned my 90 year old mum today and the person was really rude to her, she struggles with her hearing. Mum kept asking what they wanted. This is absolutely disgraceful. Surely they know about karma? They’ll get their comeuppance soon enough...

Got a call about some home appliance insurance I supposedly have, but I don’t have anything like that. She couldn’t even name the right brand of the appliances she said were covered. Total scam!

Someone phoned looking for a Mrs Linda Jenkins. I’m guessing this might be a debt collection company chasing her for some money. I told them to take my number off their list. Been getting calls from them for years, pretty much since I got this phone number.

0131 569 0029 Called our landline yesterday. A young sounding woman, who knew our names and gave an old address, was on the line. She said we had some extended warranty on all our appliances which we supposedly took out four years back at that address. She didn’t realise we’d moved since then. She sounded really sure and pushy. Obviously, this is a scam because we never got any such warranty, and we moved way before those four years. When I told her we don’t have any appliance cover, she started arguing and then just hung up on us.

Got several calls from 01315690029, saying they were from some home appliance insurance company. They told me I supposedly had a plan with them and they could lower it to £495 for 3 years covering 3 devices. Then they said I was paying £15 a month right now. That didn't sit right with me - I’ve never paid more than £5 a month for that sort of insurance. I said no and ended the call. Total SCAM! Stay clear!

01315690029 called saying I apparently had home care coverage, and when I denied it, they accused me of lying. Really rude and condescending.

They purported to represent a company that provides insurance for household appliances. After I ended the call, the woman rang me back, rather displeased, and gave me quite the telling-off (what a laugh!). She insisted that to extend my coverage, I’d need to fork out £90 annually. I clarified that I couldn't renew anything as I had never actually taken out a policy in the first place. She was adamant that I did, which was rather absurd. I mentioned I’d sift through my bank statements for clarity, and she mentioned she’d review my supposed policy and ring me again with the amount owed. I wished her the best of luck with that and bid her farewell. What a scam!

I received a call purporting to be from a home appliance insurance company, but it all felt rather dodgy, so I decided to cut the conversation short and hang up.

Should you find yourself in the position of answering their call, I’d recommend spinning a tale that the individual they seek has upped and left. You might want to adopt some rather amusing pseudonyms such as Sexton Blake, Scott Chegg, Farouk Youssef, or perhaps even Roland Butter. Mick Sturbs, Wayne Kerr, Adrian Swall, and Dan Glebits are all good for a chuckle as well, but the ultimate winner has to be Rudolph Hucker. Trust me, those callers from Asia will bite on all of them. Why not turn it into a bit of a challenge and see just how long you can keep them on the line? It’s all in good fun!

Got a call from some bloke saying he was just making sure all the gadgets in my house were working alright because my insurance was about to expire. I was like, what insurance? Then he started going on about some policy my missus supposedly got back in 2018. I told him to shove it where the sun don't shine. Just the usual dodgy scammer trying their luck.

Got a call from some scammer wanting me to fork out £495 to renew my appliance insurance. Totally fake since they had no clue about the stuff I actually own, and I don’t even have insurance! When I asked to speak to the 'manager,' he suddenly cut the call after I hinted he was a con artist :)

I recently received a call from the number 01315690029, and I could tell straight away that the caller had a foreign accent. They claimed to be representing Domestic & General and insisted that they could lower our payments for no claims on our insured appliances from the past three years-if only we provided them with our banking details. When I firmly declined, I was handed over to their so-called line manager, who attempted to persuade us as well. Curiously, when I asked for his name so I could reach out to Domestic & General directly, he abruptly ended the call. This is undoubtedly a scam, so please exercise caution and never disclose your banking information over the phone!

Got a call from some guy about home appliances, said it was about my insurance. I knew it was a scam straight away, so I asked why I even needed it. Told him to just buy a new one instead, then I hung up on him. These scams are real annoying, if people really need stuff they should just live properly instead of falling for rubbish like this. Wish these scammers would get caught properly.

I got a call from a woman claiming to be from Domestic Appliances. I told her this number is on the do-not-call list and that I’ve got her company name and number noted down. I also mentioned that it’s illegal to make cold calls to registered numbers and that this particular number has rung me several times lately.

The person on the phone actually mentioned my full name and where I live (I asked straight away where they’d found that info). Then he said it was time to renew my home appliance insurance. I wanted to know which appliances he meant. He named the washing machine and the fridge freezer. When I asked what brands they were, he didn’t have a clue. I told him that if he couldn’t even get the basics right, there was no point carrying on and I hung up.
