Got a call from 01315690027 on the 10th January 2022 around half past ten in the morning. No voicemail was left, but I managed to get the number back using 1471. I never bother calling these kinds of numbers back, since I’m pretty sure they’re from scammers.

Got a call from some bloke called Dave who said he was from Brighton, but he was using a phone number that was actually from Edinburgh. He tried to get me to sign up for insurance on kitchen appliances I don’t even own. Asked for my bank info too. Pretty clear it was a scam.

This number rang me once, so I rang it back. I got an American guy saying the account or whatever was suspended. That made me come here and check, and yeah, it's a scam. I'm really tired of these sorts of calls. From now on, I'll only trust and deal with people who are clearly legit reps from the companies they claim to be.

I reckon it's one of those appliance warranty scams. I've kept the same number for about 15 years, yet I keep getting calls meant for someone who’s never even lived here. Seems like they must have mixed up the digits way back and that incorrect number just keeps popping up on these dodgy call lists.

I received a rather persuasive call the other day. Even though I don't have appliance insurance, the caller claimed that my boiler cover was part of it. I was rather wary and didn’t allow them to proceed to the point of requesting my bank details, but I had a sneaky suspicion that was their next move!

On the 8th of January, 2022, I received a call from a purported representative of Domestic & General, who was supposedly offering some sort of discount. As a current customer, I thought I might hear something worthwhile. However, the individual on the line (seemed to have a South African accent?) was clearly out of their depth, as they had no idea about the specifics of my insurance policy. To my alarm, they proceeded to ask for my banking details - if they actually worked for the company, surely they'd have that information already? That was the final straw for me, and I hung up immediately!

Got a call earlier about my home appliances insurance, and they said if I don’t claim much I could get a 25% discount. But when I told the guy I’m not the one on that policy, he started arguing with me. The bloke was really pushy and couldn’t even say my name right. He claimed to be from Domestic Appliances, but I don’t have any insurance with that company at all.

I got a ring from some firm claiming to be Domestic Appliance about breakdown insurance for home gadgets. I mentioned my oven’s been acting up on and off, asked if they could sort it out. They said they’d send someone over, even though I don’t actually have any sort of cover with them and apparently it’s long expired anyway. Quite dodgy if you ask me.

In my previous life as a cattery owner, I encountered a rather daft individual who was adamant about addressing me as "Mr Cattery." It seems he was completely oblivious to the fact that a cattery is merely a type of establishment. To make matters worse, he assumed I would take it upon myself to renew the insurance for a cooker that must have been over thirty years old! These crooks seem to pick any location and phone number imaginable to run that old household appliance trick. if you get a call from names like michael or adam, chances are they’re trying to con you, usually aiming to raid your bank by sneaking a direct debit in. The cops are aware of these fraudsters, or at least they should be given how many reports have been made. one thing’s guaranteed, these shady characters won’t be feeling the cold this winter, that’s for sure.

I've received calls from this number on two occasions, and each time they've left the identical message regarding home insurance. Received a call purporting to be from some company handling my home appliances insurance. When I pointed out I didn’t have any such policy, they suggested I must have forgotten about it. They claimed I had taken it out on 15th January 2018 for a duration of three years, and that last year they graciously provided me with an extra year free of charge. I assured them that wasn’t the case at all. The chap on the line said he would send over the relevant information to my address and promised to follow up. It’s a complete ruse, really, and could easily confuse someone, particularly the elderly, with their patronising comments like “don’t you remember?” and references to dates from ages ago. Best just to hang up and save yourself the trouble.
