So, it was about 5.52pm on a Friday when I got a call. I picked up and all I got was silence on the other end.

Received a call from someone claiming to be from O2, saying they were keen to show appreciation for my loyalty by offering a 40% discount. Naturally, I didn’t buy it and blocked the number immediately!

I got a call from someone saying they were o2, but I haven’t been with them for ages. The lady spoke with a really thick Indian accent, so I barely caught what she was on about. Ended up just hanging up and blocking the caller straight away.

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise on my mobile today. Didn’t pick up, but looked it up here out of curiosity. This has been happening pretty regularly, maybe twice a week, for some time now. It first started a few years back, around the time I found out my info was leaked during a big breach on a popular website. Personal data was probably being sold on the dark web. Looks like my only option now is to just change all my phone numbers, annoyingly enough.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with “O2” since they reckoned I was one of their customers. I told them their info must be way old because I actually left O2 ages ago. She then asked what network I was on now, so I just ended the call.

The call actually originates from scammers in India who haven't a clue who they're trying to reach. They're pretending to represent Vodafone, but make no mistake, they're up to no good.
