I got a call from 3, saying they'd offer me a discount even though I don’t have any contract with them. They asked me to confirm my address!

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be with 3, with loads of noise in the background. I asked where he was calling from since the number was from Burnley. After a long silence, he said he was at 3's main office in Reading. When I asked him who exactly he thought I was, he started to get annoyed and couldn’t answer, so I just ended the call.

They were really eager to sell me a new sim and kept asking for my postcode.

They rung me a couple times but I didn’t pick up any of em.

Warning! They claimed to be from Three but couldn't give me my address or email attached to my account. Definitely seems like a scam to me.

Total rip off! They acted like they were from Three Mobile but it was all a con.

Some bloke called, claiming he was from O2 or Virgin, saying my sim was old and I had to switch from 4G to 5G. Sounds dodgy to me, just trying to pull a fast one!

The caller called herself Hetty and went on about Vodafone and 3 joining together. She was telling me my sim was outdated and said they'd send me a new one which would arrive at my door tomorrow. Then she asked me to verify my address, but I didn't give her any details.

This was definitely a scam, pretending to be O2 and Virgin Media. They couldn't even get simple facts right or answer any basic questions properly. Not genuine at all.

Got a call from someone saying they were with O2, but I was pretty sure it was a scam straight away. Their English was all over the place like most of these dodgy calls. My phone even flagged it as "suspected scam," so no surprise there. It's a scary time with these scams around, but being careful on calls does save a lot of folks from getting caught out.

Someone said they were from O2 but their English was really bad, so I just ended the call. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

Got a call from some bloke saying he worked for my mobile company, but I’ve never even heard of the firm he mentioned. Something felt off about the whole thing, so I told him straight up it was a scam and that he must’ve got my number illegally since I never gave it out. After I said that, he just stopped talking. I've blocked the number now. Wouldn’t recommend answering it. The call seemed to come from somewhere in Burnley.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Virgin/O2, saying my sim was outdated and I had to switch from 4G to 5G. They tried to get me to log in through a text with a 2FA code, but when that didn’t work, they sent an email with a link to reset my password. Didn’t take the bait, but if you know anyone who might, definitely give them a heads up.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Virgin/O2, saying my SIM card was old and that I had to switch from 4G to 5G. They tried to get me to log into my account using a 2FA code sent by text, but when that didn’t work, they sent an email with a password reset link. Thankfully, I wasn’t fooled at all. Just thought I’d give a heads up in case someone you know might get caught out by this sort of thing.

Definitely a call centre from Asia, no doubt about it. I tried talking in some rubbish language I made up just to confuse them, but the bloke just kept going and refused to end the call. Then I rang the number again from a different phone and someone actually picked up. Seems like it was a VoIP line or something.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from O2 and Virgin Media about an unpaid bill. Thing is, I’m not even a customer with either company. I suspected it was a scam straight away but played along a bit just to mess with them. Told them all my payments go through direct debit, and they snapped back asking how I knew it had cleared. Then they put me on to some bloke named Michael after I asked them to stop calling me. They also wanted my email so they could supposedly “shut down my account.”

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying he was with Virgin O2. Thought it might be dodgy but since my broadband is Virgin, I decided to pick up when he asked if I'd been having signal problems lately. He said he'd send someone round the next day to sort it out and bring new kit without charging me extra. Then he asked for my address. I told him it's the same as what's on file since I haven't moved in 17 years. His response was a sudden "Oh" before he just hung up on me. Not expecting anyone to show up today now! 😂
