Energy Green Deal - that’s the name the lady mentioned, yet I can’t seem to track it down on Google anywhere. They rang me to discuss arranging a fully qualified surveyor to assess my windows and doors for any potential heat leakage, promising just to leave me with that info afterwards. Moreover, they mentioned that if there's a resident aged between 58 and 85 in the household, we may qualify for some sort of 'funding', which seems like a safety net for any future alterations we might consider. She provided me with their office number, which coincidentally matched the one given by 1471, lending it an air of authenticity. However, I’m compelled to report them since we are registered with the Telephone Preference Service. On the bright side, the woman was exceedingly polite and didn’t press me when I said I needed time to ponder it before getting back to them. Just got another call from some green energy company, they even knew my name and postcode, asking if I wanted a review of my energy savings because "they’re local". This happens to me all the time, probably twice a week from what looks like a Kings Lynn number but it’s obviously fake. My answer is always NO, leave me alone and bother someone else. People doing this should be banned and made to stop by the authorities. Such pests.

CHEATERS!! Got the same type of call once more, they change the numbers all the time. I’ve blocked this one and I suggest blocking every number like this. Always use caller ID and if you don’t recognise the number, just don’t pick up. Most of the time these are robo calls trying to see if you’re home. If you answer and hear nothing, it’s probably an automated call, and later on you might get a real person ringing from the same or a different number, aiming to trick you. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!

Got a call from someone pretending to be BT, saying I’d get a 35% discount on my next bill and all future ones for being a loyal customer. The accent was a dead giveaway, sounded like one of those dodgy call centres. I played along, asked what I had to do, and he said just pay my bill by card today to start the discount. Told him I haven’t been with BT for like 6 years, and then he called me a swear word and hung up. Definitely a scam, watch out folks!

Received a call today from someone asking for a homeowner who doesn’t actually exist - they used my wife’s maiden name. They claimed to be from the Energy Green Deal but seemed completely clueless about their own address and phone number. They offered to connect me to a manager, but just as quickly, the line went silent. Quite odd, I must say!

He mentioned that folks aged 58 to 85 might qualify for free upgrades to their double glazing. He asked when would be a good time to call back, but I told him it wasn’t a good time, and he just hung up straight after without saying anything else.

Got a call from a call centre asking for someone who doesn’t even live here, so I just ended the call. Our number is on the TPS list, but they seem to be completely ignoring it. Really frustrating, especially since we’re expecting an important phone call. I’m planning to report this number to Ofcom and would advise others on the TPS register to do the same.
