Some woman rang me up and just couldn’t say my name right, which is pretty easy to say if you ask me. When I asked her to say it again, she suddenly started calling me the house owner instead! She said she was offering some heat loss check or something. I told her I wasn’t interested and she just cut me off. Honestly, I could’ve used a heat loss check yesterday, maybe then I wouldn’t be freezing!

This morning I got a call from 01274752776. They said they were with some energy efficiency group checking the age of windows older than ten years. They asked if I owned the house I left about 8 years back. The person said they assess window ratings and if they get a D to F grade, they could be swapped out at no cost, and assured me it wasn’t like a means-tested grant. Honestly, I was sceptical and told them nothing’s really free these days. I wasn’t convinced someone would replace all my windows without charging, so I asked them to ring back when my husband was around.

I told them I was Mrs so not him. They just ended the call immediately after that. Pretty rude really. Since their info seemed a bit off, I wasn’t sure what to say and said I’d need to have a look at my documents first. After that, she just said alright, bye, and ended the call.

Watch out with these lot, they record your voice and use it to lock you into energy deals. Make sure what you say is safe and just block them right away. Always ask your energy provider about adding a password to your account so no one else can mess with your plans. Just give your supplier a call to sort it out.

Got a call today around 11:05am on my landline from this number. When I picked up, I could hear voices in the background and even a dial tone. I hung up after a few moments because it was quite frustrating. These types of calls happen way too often and really grate on me.

Then I mentioned the TPS, and she hesitated. I told her we were on the TPS list, so they shouldn’t be calling us. She just made a 'tsk tsk' sound and then ended the call.

Honestly, I thought the government was meant to clamp down on these cold calls by now. Maybe it's just me, but if I need a service or product, I’ll reach out myself, not the other way around. Plus, with all the energy firms out there, you’d think prices would be dropping because of proper competition, but nope. It feels like one company hikes up their rates and the rest just follow suit the next day. What they fail to see is, if they stopped gouging us at every turn and showed some loyalty, more people might actually stick with them.
