I got a call from some bloke called Oliver Thomson claiming to be from Domestic Appliances. He said he was located in Brighton and gave me a website along the lines of ukserviceplan[###]. He told me my insurance on my fridge, cooker, washing machine and TV had run out and tried to get me to renew it. Said the manufacturer’s warranty had finished too. Pretty sure this was a scam, so I’ve reported it to be safe.

Got a call yesterday from someone called "Amy" claiming this was the number for Domestic insurance. She was trying to sell me a discount deal on insurance for my kitchen appliances. I told her it sounded like a scam and wasn’t interested. I looked up the number she called from and it showed up as 01273655144 on both calls.

Received a call from someone purporting to be from Domestic and General Insurance, who claimed my renewal was imminent. I was rather gullible and went along with the conversation. Beware, it’s a total scam! The moment they requested my debit card information and mentioned they’d ring back in a quarter of an hour for an authorisation code, I quickly ended the call. When I dialled the number again, a different voice picked up and claimed they were from "Apex Insurance". Naturally, I panicked and promptly contacted my bank to block my card, just in case. Since that call, they’ve managed to ring me six times within the span of a day. I've had to sever the line altogether, yet they still manage to get through, despite my call blocking feature! I even have a hidden number listing, so it’s beyond me how they accessed my details and contact number. This is quite clearly a scam, and possibly even fraud by deception. I took the step of informing D&G about the misuse of their name. I'm at a bit of a loss as to what further actions I can take.

Got a call from someone claiming my insurance on two of my home appliances needed renewing. They tried to sell me a plan for a year or two years with an extra year thrown in for free. After thinking it over, I told them no thanks. But then they rang me again the next day. Feels dodgy to me, pretty sure it's a scam.

Got a call from someone claiming they had a deal on kitchen stuff. They asked me for the full bank account number, which I didn’t want to give. I received a rather pushy phone call from someone attempting to sell kitchen appliance insurance. They were trying to persuade my 88-year-old relative to sign up for a policy that would cost £500 annually, and on top of it all, they were fishing for her bank details! It’s outrageous! When I rang the number back, I spoke with a person who had an Asian or Indian accent. I informed them that this was clearly a cold call and that they were infringing on regulations, as our number is registered with the TPS (Telephone Preference Service). They had the audacity to claim that they were permitted to do so because they had obtained a list from recognised manufacturers. I find that hard to believe-what a load of tosh!

They insisted they had some information indicating that my existing warranty was nearing its end and offered me an extended policy. I graciously declined and promptly ended the call. Curiosity got the better of me, so I did a bit of digging and discovered that the entire company was a sham. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Sky Protect, saying my policy was about to be altered. I rang Sky Protect back on their official number and they told me my policy stayed exactly the same. So it turns out that call was definitely a scam.

The second time I picked up, a bloke said it was about the warranty. I told him straight, we don’t even have a washing machine, so stop calling. He kept pushing and then had the cheek to ask why I was shouting at him - I wasn’t shouting! Honestly, if I hadn’t hung up quick, he’d have heard some proper backchat. It’s awful how these people prey on older folks like that.

Someone rang saying they were from Sky, pushing me to buy a year's worth of cover for the Sky gear all in one go. I just can’t afford that sort of upfront payment. When I asked if I could pay in monthly instalments, they flat out said no, even though I've done that before. They were quite pushy and a bit rude about it. I ended the call but they kept ringing back. The last call was this morning, and the guy on the line was really unpleasant, even swore at me when I refused and said he’d just go ahead regardless. Proper bad experience.
