This guy named Adam kept ringing me to offer some sort of insurance for my washing machine. I told him no a few times, but he just wouldn’t stop phoning. Then he asked if I was a pensioner or something! Quite annoying really.

I had a call from someone saying they were from Domestic & General, trying to get me to renew my cover this year. I ended up giving them my card details, but when I checked my paperwork, my renewal wasn’t actually due for a few months yet. I quickly contacted my bank to report the suspicious call, and they’ve blocked my card and are sending me a new one.

On the 27th of January, 2020, I had a call from this number pretending to be from the Sky Protect Insurance team. They asked me for my bank info to process a payment. Unfortunately, I shared the details but then noticed an authorisation request pop up. I had to ring my bank quickly to update my account info and stop anything dodgy happening.

I got a voicemail but it was just loud background noises like a busy call centre. There wasn’t any clear message at all, just some rambling that kept going. Eventually I gave up and ended the call.

I missed the call and since there was no voicemail, I figured it was probably just some kind of sales call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from a washing machine insurance firm, saying I was already signed up with them. They wanted £200 to keep the cover going for another three years. This has scam written all over it, no doubt.
