My dad's really forgetful and these lot rang him up and somehow convinced him to set up a direct debit for £479 for some white goods insurance he definitely doesn’t require. I contacted the bank to try and sort it out, but they’re no help. They promised to refund the whole amount but still, nothing has happened. It feels like they’re just scamming vulnerable elderly people. Such a disgrace!

They conned my elderly mum who has dementia, pretending to offer insurance for home appliances. The business is called National Home Cover, but they've got other numbers too like 0333 880 1762 and 0333 880 1342. They act like a proper company, but honestly they're nothing but scammers.

My elderly mum just got another call from someone pretending to be from d&g (they're definitely not d&g!) about insuring her appliances. This is actually the second time a number starting with 01273 has done this. The first time, they scammed her out of £295. When i rang back with my number withheld, all i got was an automated voice saying “all our call agents are busy, but we’ll get to you soon” - no company name mentioned at all, so defo not legit. Stay away from these guys!

We only just lost my dad not long ago, and today these idiots had the nerve to ring my mum trying to scam her into paying for washing machine insurance. They asked for her bank info, but luckily I caught the call in time. The bloke on the phone had a thick foreign accent and was really rude, so I told him off and just ended the call!

some scammer rang my mum, who’s got alzheimer’s, and convinced her to pay £89 for a supposed washing machine ‘service’. they never even set a date for it. on top of that, with the corona lockdown going on, there’s no way anyone would be visiting her place at the moment. luckily her bank stopped the payment because the company is flagged as a dodgy outfit known for scamming old and vulnerable people.

My mum, who suffers from Alzheimer's, got a call from some company trying to get her to shell out £89 for washing machine insurance. Luckily, her bank stopped the payment, though on her statement it showed up as Protect365 - some so-called insurance firm. I tried checking out their site but my antivirus freaked out and flagged a big virus warning. Tried ringing their number and it just kept ringing with no answer or automated message whatsoever. Mum had jotted down a Brighton number, but when I called it, all I got was some dodgy prerecorded message pretending they’d phone back later, without saying who they even are or giving any proper info.

Today, I got a call from some bloke claiming to be from Premier Protect about my Sky Insurance. He was pushing some extra coverage for my telly and even suggested different payment options. Right away, I felt uneasy since I couldn’t figure out how Sky had anything to do with this company. Later, I looked them up online and all I found were bad reviews and warning signs. Definitely dodgy if you ask me.

About a week ago, I got a call from the Sky Protection Team, trying to sell me insurance for household appliances. Since then, it’s been nearly daily calls from them with different deals and offers. Honestly, they’re really pestering me now. Just stop calling!

An older relative got conned by this firm after they called her up about some appliance insurance she already had through a proper provider. They charged her card super quick. Thankfully, the fraud team at her bank managed to fix things pretty fast. Just a heads up though, these lot are really pushy and can be quite ruthless with older folks. When you try ringing them, it goes straight to voicemail. Once the scam got dealt with, they tried calling again but hung up right after the first ring.

This number has rung me up a few times, saying they’re from Premiere Insurance. They claim our washing machine cover has run out and ask for a credit card to renew it for three years at a discounted rate. I’m pretty sure it’s a con. Inspired by Kitboga, I try to keep them chatting so they’re not hassling anyone more gullible. I once managed to keep a conversation going for 48 minutes before a woman joined in, telling me I’d kept them on the phone way too long. Definitely a laugh!

They’re from some outfit named Premier Protect, not Sky at all. Sure, they push Sky insurance, but it’s not actually from Sky or their legit insurance company D&G, which charges about £9 a month for priority repairs or replacements. They’ll try to say your direct debit is about to expire, so you’ve gotta make a one-off payment with a discount, then they’ll pass you over to a manager who offers an even bigger discount to get the payment done immediately. Also, if you have a Sky Q box, that’s Sky’s property and they’ll sort any repairs or replacements themselves.

I got a call from someone claiming to be the Sky Protection Team, calling from 01615187061, telling me my Sky insurance was about to expire. Thing is, I don’t even have Sky or any of their gear, so that felt off right away. They tried to sell me a deal - three years of coverage for the price of two. I played along a bit just to see what would happen. Then they passed me onto another person who asked for my 16-digit card details, which I flat out refused to give. The line cut off suddenly, but then I got a call back from a Brighton number, 01273 977 458. When I asked, the caller said their office was at 101 Queen’s Road, Brighton. After telling them I was wasting my time and wasn’t interested, they hung up. By the way, I’m signed up with the TPS. That address rang a bell too - I got a call from Premier Protect about washing machine insurance from there a while ago.

I got a call from 1471 and decided to call back, but the message said something like "the person you are trying to reach isn't at this number."
Honestly, I’ve never heard of this number before, so I’m guessing it’s probably some kind of spam.
Normally, I block any unfamiliar numbers through BT 1572 to keep them out of my inbox, but this one only showed up on 1471 and didn’t pop up on 1572, so I wasn’t able to block it properly.
