4 yearsAnother instance of the "apexassure" scam rearing its ugly head! Have a look at the discussions surrounding 03332001600 for more insights.4 yearsMy dad's really forgetful and these lot rang him up and somehow convinced him to set up a direct debit for £479 for some white goods insurance he definitely doesn’t require. I contacted the bank to try and sort it out, but they’re no help. They promised to refund the whole amount but still, nothing has happened. It feels like they’re just scamming vulnerable elderly people. Such a disgrace!5 yearsThey conned my elderly mum who has dementia, pretending to offer insurance for home appliances. The business is called National Home Cover, but they've got other numbers too like 0333 880 1762 and 0333 880 1342. They act like a proper company, but honestly they're nothing but scammers.National Home Cover6 yearsMy elderly mum just got another call from someone pretending to be from d&g (they're definitely not d&g!) about insuring her appliances. This is actually the second time a number starting with 01273 has done this. The first time, they scammed her out of £295. When i rang back with my number withheld, all i got was an automated voice saying “all our call agents are busy, but we’ll get to you soon” - no company name mentioned at all, so defo not legit. Stay away from these guys!D & G6 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be Domestic and General, asking for my card details - sounds like a data breach to me.6 yearsWe only just lost my dad not long ago, and today these idiots had the nerve to ring my mum trying to scam her into paying for washing machine insurance. They asked for her bank info, but luckily I caught the call in time. The bloke on the phone had a thick foreign accent and was really rude, so I told him off and just ended the call!6 yearssome scammer rang my mum, who’s got alzheimer’s, and convinced her to pay £89 for a supposed washing machine ‘service’. they never even set a date for it. on top of that, with the corona lockdown going on, there’s no way anyone would be visiting her place at the moment. luckily her bank stopped the payment because the company is flagged as a dodgy outfit known for scamming old and vulnerable people.6 yearsMy elderly mother, who is living with Alzheimer's, received an unsolicited call and was convinced to part with £89 for some washing machine insurance. Luckily, her bank managed to halt the transaction, which is listed on her statement as Protect365, presumably an insurance provider. I took a peruse of their website, only to find my computer triggering a severe virus warning! I attempted to reach their contact number, but it just kept ringing without any reply or recorded message. Interestingly, my mother noted down a phone number from Brighton, but when I rang it, I was met with one of those automated messages that feigns a return call, lacking any mention of the company or relevant details. Quite the dodgy business, if you ask me!Brighton6 yearsToday, I had a rather dodgy chap from a company named Premier Protect ring me up regarding my Sky Insurance. He was keen to sell me extra coverage for my television and suggested several payment options. I was quite wary from the outset since I couldn’t quite grasp the link between this firm and Sky. So, I decided to do a bit of digging online, and all I came across were disheartening reviews about them.PremierSky InsuranceSky6 yearssomeone from sky protection team called me trying to sell insurance for home appliancesSky Protection Team6 yearsI've been getting bombarded by calls from this Sky Protection Team lately and it's driving me up the wall! They tried to peddle me some insurance for home appliances about a week back, and since then, it feels like their number is glued to my phone. Every single day, it's yet another offer or deal - it’s far too much! Seriously, can't they just take a hint and give me some peace?Sky Protection Team7 yearsAn older relative got conned by this firm after they called her up about some appliance insurance she already had through a proper provider. They charged her card super quick. Thankfully, the fraud team at her bank managed to fix things pretty fast. Just a heads up though, these lot are really pushy and can be quite ruthless with older folks. When you try ringing them, it goes straight to voicemail. Once the scam got dealt with, they tried calling again but hung up right after the first ring.7 yearsWe've been inundated with calls from this number, purporting to be from Premiere Insurance, insisting that our washing machine coverage has lapsed. They're quite insistent on obtaining a credit card number to supposedly allow us to renew our policy at a bargain rate for the next three years. It's patently obvious that this is a con. Taking a leaf out of Kitboga's book, we make a concerted effort to keep them engaged for as long as we can, so they're not pestering someone who might be more easily duped. My personal best is a staggering 48 minutes, until a woman finally joined the call to inform me that I had been nattering away with her colleagues for far too long. What a laugh!Premiere InsuranceKitboga7 yearsIt seems this number belongs to a firm named Premier Protect, which isn’t affiliated with Sky whatsoever. They do provide insurance for Sky services, but they’re definitely not calling on behalf of Sky or their official insurance underwriter, D&G, who charge around £9 a month for a speedy repair or replacement service. They’ll claim that your direct debit is about to expire, pushing the narrative that you need to fork out a one-off payment at a supposedly discounted rate, and then they might hand you over to a supervisor who will dangle an additional discount if you pay up right away. Just a heads up-if you’ve got a Sky Q box, it’s technically Sky’s property, so any repairs or replacements are covered by them directly.Premier ProtectSkyD & G7 yearsGot a call from someone trying to sell me insurance for my Sky account, but I don’t even subscribe to Sky.Sky7 yearsI came across this number after dialling 1471. I decided to call it back, and the response was rather puzzling: "the person you are trying to reach isn't at this location." Now, I have absolutely no familiarity with this number, so it seems rather dubious to me-likely just another spam call. Typically, I redirect all unidentified numbers to junk via BT 1572, but as this one only popped up on 1471, I couldn't flag it for junk. Quite the nuisance, if you ask me!Submit Your Own Report (01273 977458)
