Got a call from 01273-655256 this afternoon, 2nd December 2020, around 5pm from a number I didn't recognise. It was a woman on the line saying something about my insurance, though she never mentioned which one exactly. She seemed unsure about my name or maybe couldn’t say it properly. When I pressed her for the name of the firm, she just said "the maintenance department". I kept pushing to find out who she was really with but then she ended the call. Definitely seemed dodgy to me.

Got a call from a bloke with a foreign accent saying he was from some ‘appliance insurance’ company. He claimed my cover was about to run out on three items - a Bosch washing machine, a Bosch fridge, and a Hotpoint cooker that uses both gas and electricity. Problem is, I don’t own any of those things, never have. So it was clear as day it was a scam. He said they’d got my details from the manufacturer, but couldn’t even provide the appliance model numbers. It worries me that people with those appliances might be fooled by this.

Got a call from a guy with a strong foreign accent, really hard to follow what he was saying. He said he was ringing about a warranty for my Beko washing machine. He even knew my name and address, and gave me some supposed warranty number. When I told him I didn't own that washing machine, he told me to look over my documents - all formal like, using my name! As soon as I made it plain I wasn’t buying it, he just hung up on me. Total scam if you ask me.

Got a ring from this number earlier, some lady with an Indian accent claiming my washing machine and fridge-freezer insurance needed renewing.
