He rattled off a few personal bits that were kinda spot on, but I didn’t give anything away. I just told him straight up I don’t have any warranty insurance. Within just an hour, I got two calls from completely different spots. I never answered, even though my phone’s got loads of names and numbers saved. The first one was from 01404 41344, somewhere in Honiton, and the second rang from 01273 655251 out of Brighton. Honestly, your free lookup service is a lifesaver. I just had a rather dodgy phone call from this number claiming that the warranty on my Hotpoint washing machine was nearing its end. They were keen to get my debit card info to sort the renewal, but here’s the kicker-I don’t even own a Hotpoint washer! When I pressed the bloke on where I supposedly purchased it from and which company he represented, there was an awkward silence before he abruptly cut me off! How cheeky!

I got a call about a home appliance warranty that supposedly got "renewed" back in Sept 2019, which was a couple of months after my mum, who was a widow, passed away. They had my late parent's name and address - probably not hard to find, I guess. Then they started saying Hotpoint makes all brands except Zanussi, which is actually the brand of the washing machine they were talking about. It was totally a scam.

Potential Scam Alert I received a call from an agent who claimed to represent a Domestic Appliance company, attempting to convince me to renew insurance for my washing machine. Got a call from some bloke, quite pushy, asking about a person who left the place like 20 years back. He wouldn't reveal who he was at all.

I got a call from a lady with an Indian accent saying my washing machine and fridge insurance had run out but they’d renew it for me. I asked her about the policy details and when I first got it, but she just kept saying it was some sort of domestic insurance and mentioned £69 for the fridge. I told her I found it odd since my fridge is barely a month old. Then I called her a total scammer and she hung up. Why don’t the authorities slap massive fines on not just these scam companies but also the people working in the call centres? It might stop them pestering us so much.

My 88 year old mum got a call from someone who just wouldn’t back off. He said it was about updating her insurance premium and even knew her name, which was pretty unsettling.

I got a call from this number saying I had to update my details for my Sky subscription. When I asked the guy on the phone to verify my address, he only knew part of it. I then told him I don’t even have Sky, which is true, and he just mumbled something before hanging up.

Got a call from 01273655251 around 6:05 this evening. The lady said my washing machine and fridge freezer insurance was about to expire. She even mentioned my surname, postcode and house number, which freaked me out a bit. I refused to share any details and was then put through to her "manager". He quickly gave up when I refused to cooperate. Feels like my insurance info might've been compromised?? Definitely don't hand over any bank info to them!

So, this number 01273655251 rang me earlier. When I picked up and said hello, a lady with an accent asked if I was Mrs Stanley. I told her no and asked how I could help. She just ended the call straight away - bit rude if you ask me! I said no because Stanley’s actually my partner’s first name, not the last. Figured it was probably some sales call anyway. Another one added to my block list!

Got a call from an Asian bloke trying to get us to renew insurance on our washing machine. Since I’m the one who handles all the insurance stuff, my partner was able to confirm right away that the name the guy was using wasn’t on our policy. He gave us a policy number, but funny enough, the real one was sitting right in front of us and they were totally different. I almost felt bad for the poor scammer. Just picked the wrong people at the wrong time. Score one for us!

As always, the call started with "Is this Mrs Hill I'm talking to?" I quickly said, "Not that again!" Then he just said "Have a good day" and hung up on me! Typical.

Got a call about selling me an extended warranty for my kitchen gear. When I asked where they got my info from, they just went quiet. Then, when I requested their company’s official address, they suddenly ended the call. Suspicious if you ask me!

I recently received a call from this number regarding some kind of insurance for kitchen appliances. The whole thing was rather perplexing and hard to follow, plus I certainly didn't request it or have any need for such a cover. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!
