Got a call from someone with an Asian accent asking about Sky TV gear. They used the wrong name for my missus, which seemed off. I told them it sounded like a scam and ended the call straight away.

On 26th Jan 2021 at about 2.40pm, this number 01273665130 rang my landline, but I didn’t pick up. I had a look here to see if anyone else had mentioned them and found loads of reports, so straight on the block list they went. Then there was another call from 08004790758 saying they were from D and G insurance. I let them go on for a good couple of minutes before I said I wasn’t interested. After that, they just ended the call themselves.

I got a call on my private number from 01273655130 about some appliance insurance that supposedly needed renewing. They weren't asking, just telling me what to do, so I just ended the call right away. It's ridiculous these scammers keep getting away with it. Why don't the police or the government just block numbers like this straight away? If any of us tried running a scam like that, you bet we'd be in trouble.

So, I got a call from 01273 655130 supposedly about some 'Domestic Insurance' for home appliances they claimed I had with them. I told them that I don't have any such policy and tried to explain that it felt like a cold call, but they denied it. The person on the line said she was Kate Wilson and gave an address of 101 Queens Road, Brighton BN1 3XF, which is indeed the right postcode for that spot. Interestingly, that location is very near an office of Domestic & General. When I tried calling back, the number just wouldn’t pick up or accept any calls. Bit fishy if you ask me.

I received a call from a gentleman with a rather distinct accent claiming to represent an insurance company. I decided to hang up at that juncture. I would advise against answering calls from this number.

Since about mid-December, this dodgy outfit has been ringing up loads of folks, trying to con them out of cash. They've snapped up every number from 01273 655101 to 01273 655130, and now it looks like 01273 655131 is next on their list. Honestly, they don’t seem like they're gonna quit anytime soon! Be careful, don’t hand over your money to these scammers.

I got a call from this number, but my "Call Guardian" app spotted it and blocked it straight away. They just ended the call after that, so pretty clear they weren’t genuine. (Saw some of the other comments about fridge insurance, haha! What random thing will they come up with next?) Big thanks to who-called UK for providing such a great free tool, really grateful for it.

I got a call from a guy with an asian accent saying he was from some sort of domestic appliance insurance, and he kept asking for my husband. His English was pretty bad and he even got our name wrong. I told him straight up it’s a scam and to stop ringing us. They had also phoned back to back early one morning a few days ago, pretty annoying.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Sky Security, but they had my previous address wrong. I told them I don’t live there anymore and don’t have Sky anymore. Just as he ended the call, I swear I heard him mutter a swear word. Pretty sure it’s a dodgy scam and not to be trusted.

Got a call from this rude lady pushing washing machine cover insurance. She claimed she found my number through some policy I supposedly hold - which I do not. To top it off, she even mentioned a completely wrong brand of machine! This call feels pretty dodgy and against the rules, especially since I'm registered with the telephone preference service. This bloke won't stop ringing my 93-year-old mother-in-law with all sorts of dodgy sales pitches. One time, he said he was from Sky Protection and that her stuff wasn’t covered anymore, which is rubbish cos she’s never had Sky. We’ve told him off loads of times to leave her alone, but when you push back, he just cuts the call. I’m pretty sure he’s some sort of scammer, trying to get banking info from elderly folks who are easy targets.

The bloke asked for me by name, so I asked who he was. He said he was Adam from Domestic and General. I told him nicely that if it had anything to do with insurance, I wasn’t interested. Then he said that if I was gonna be like that, he’d call back another time! I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Got a call from a dodgy number saying they were some kind of kitchen equipment insurance, wanted a big lump sum right then and there. Totally a scam! They keep ringing from similar numbers ending in 126, 127, and 129 too. Don’t fall for it, even if they know your name and where you live, just hang up and don’t hand over any cash.

I got a call from a woman, sounded like she had an Asian accent, saying my insurance for the fridge, washer and washing machine needed renewing. She tried to get me to pay right then and there over the phone. I told her to send the documents through instead. Her info didn’t add up at all, so I just hung up. Definitely seemed like a dodgy scam, watch out for this one.

I got a call about renewing the warranty on my washing machine and fridge, but I just hung up straight away. Then, they rang me back almost immediately and asked for my husband - who’s been dead for four years now! Seems like they were just pulling info from some phone directory.

This number called my elderly mum, who’s 80, pretending to be from her insurance company. They told her she was owed a refund and asked for her bank info. The caller sounded really sure of themselves, knew her name and where she lives. They kept pushing her, very bossy. Mum told them her daughter handles her cards but the bloke kept insisting she must have another card. It was quite stressful for her, she got all flustered and ended the call before ringing me straight away. Thankfully she didn’t share any of her details.

Got a ring from this number earlier. The person on the phone claimed my kitchen stuff wasn’t under any service contract anymore. When I asked what appliances they were talking about, they couldn’t tell me for sure and guessed Hotpoint, which is wrong. I told them where to stick their washing machine deal and ended the call. Later, I checked online and, no shocker, it’s just another scam. I’ve blocked them now.

Had a call from a woman claiming to be from Sky Protection Services, offering some kind of protection plan for a Sky box. I told her we’ve never owned one, but she switched to offering TV coverage instead and denied ever mentioning the Sky box. She insisted that all calls are recorded and they’d prove she was right. When I mentioned we’re on the TPS list, she just said she knew and wasn’t selling anything. Despite me warning I’d end the call and report it, she kept pushing. This kind of call feels borderline harassing, and I can see how it could be really troubling for others.
